Looked like a promising game on paper, but once you get in, you realize how little there is. You get the opprotunity to construct tracks for the trains to drive upon while collecting stars. Thats about it. You can go inside the train but while in VR, you have to aim a cursor at the horn and the speed of the train instead of using your actual hand. The way you select a level is the same way, by aiming and hoping you are pointing to it. There is no walking around the table so when you get a level that is hard to see, you have to try to adjust yourself to be able to point to it. The controls are barely explained to where I didn't even know there was a settings menu until I was 8 levels in. I know I only played this game for 15 minutes, but I don't see any enjoyment coming from this game in the long run, just wonky VR controls.

About This Game
For thousands of years people have dreamed about traveling.
As a species we have achieved a lot - millions of railroad kilometers, endless highways and the fact that at any given moment there are half a million people flying around in the sky. We are even on the verge of space-tourism. However, the most important journey is still beyond our reach... Or is it?
- The Ancient Greeks built the first railroads around the year 600 BCE.
- In 1895 the Lumiere Brothers were the first to capture a train on a moving picture.
These are two amazing achievements but we need to evolve further.
In 2018, The House of Fables has combined virtual reality with a childhood dream. We created a video game which offers you the chance to relive those innocent memories.
Virtual Reality gives us more than we realize. Time-travel isn’t a physical reality (as far as we know), but a ride down the memory line is.
We developed Trains VR as a bridge between the present and the past.
A childhood dream combined with the newest technology.
Hop on the locomotive and travel back to your past!
Don’t try to time-travel to your past. Bring it back with Trains VR!
Trains VR is a puzzle game that gives you the ultimate opportunity to find the best-fitting solution to railroad problems and relive your childhood:
- Challenge yourself with 40 levels of logical puzzles that have multiple solutions.
- Dive into a fantasy world of locomotives, train stations and magical stars that you will have to collect.
- Become a master builder and the fastest conductor of all!
Build, Ride, Fail, Repeat and solve puzzles!!

Can only move physically in the real world to move in-game. Requires a large open space to play. This makes the game unplayable for me. Please add movement in the game. The movement options that are there aren't very responsive. E.g. Moving the table up or down has a 1-2 second delay after pulling the trigger.
Love this feeling that actually you can move around the table (or rotate the table to be more precise). Just imagine that you have this game with AR support and you can adjust your table in living room to a railroad heaven.
Toy Story vibes here! At some levels, collecting 3 stars is quite a challenge.
Train lovers will be satisfied. A typical puzzlegame with a gear changing, but extremely interesting looking at the table using VR. I Recommend this
not bad for the sale price
good game
I have mixed feelings about this game. Although I liked this simple puzzle game at first, I became aware of the less optimised controls (I used a Steam VR index). There were no real good explanation on how to rotate the table (Had to figure it out myself). Ofcourse if you are playing in a bigger surrounding, you could walk around. But for those who are in a small surrounding, a small explanation on how the basic movements are, isn't asked too much. But still, there is no point in walking around as it doesn't offer you any "more" insight on how to fix the puzzle. For some reason, my controllers didn't feel optimised, i had to click multiple times on the building spot, and on moments when I wanted to build a track, it destroyed it instead. All the controls are easy to understand, the controllers however managed to change all my instructions. So not sure if it's the game or the controllers that weren't in "sync". The game itself is presenting simple train puzzles, which are quite fun ...
As others have said, the game is promising but fails to deliver in several areas. It severely needs a UX pass and fails to properly utilize VR in the way you interact with the world. It's a fairly basic puzzle game that has been done better in other games such as Trainyard on iOS. If the developer redoes the interactions ingame I could see this being a neat game, but right now it's just not really there.
Tried this at Samsung Gear VR last year. Great to have it also on Oculus
