About This Game

Exodemon is a fast paced first person shooter inspired by the 90s FPS golden age. You must make your way through maze-like levels, destroying hordes of enemies with your monstrous abilities. Combining the destructive power of your symbiotic claws with a fast, sharp and fluid movement, you’ll become an indestructible alien killing machine.

In Exodemon you play as a scientist in the edge of the universe who was infected by an alien entity. The symbiotic force is trying to take control, but you may find a way to control the beast on the confederation laboratories. Resist the infection and blaze through various locations to reach the last escape pod before you lose what’s left of your humanity.

Features
  • Fast Paced First Person Shooter
Tired of slug-like FPS protagonists? You are in the right place! Fast movement and sharp controls, no cover, no regenerating health and no reload time.
  • Old School Feel
Do you remember when games used to respect your intelligence? No hand holding in this game. If someone tries to hold your hand here, oh boy! Just tear them with your claws!
  • Low Poly/Low Res Retro Graphics
All the charm of the classic FPS is here, you can count the polygons yourself! All this combined with dynamic particles and high quality lighting.
  • Awesome Hands From Hell
This one is self explanatory, right? If you are infected by an alien entity, at least take advantage of its destructive power!
  • Lots of exploration and secrets
Here you will find carefully crafted levels with lots of paths and secrets to find. Each enemy of the game is manually placed, nothing of that procedurally generated schmuck.

Exodemon is a great indie fast paced fps with gorgeous retro aesthetics (almost the same style as seen in the upcoming game Prodeus). When playing it for the first few minutes it put that smile on my face, you know that guilty smile you get when playing something really good with that old school vibe to it lol. This game is pure retro fps nostalgia.😊 So far great level design, sexy retro looking graphics, sweet synthwave soundtrack and top notch gameplay, what more can you ask for ? It looks like there is a lot of platforming, which i like, the gameplay feels great and the controls are responsive. I think the game might become a bit repetitive in the long run or might be short but imo it's absolutely worth buying and the price is fair for such quality. Only thing i dislike so far is the unstable framerate (very common in games powered by unity engine). Nothing too bad but still can be improved i think. Exodemon has such a nice learning curve, it feels even better and better the more you play and the more you understand about it. Its level design is also amazing. Other games have tried to get the retro/classic fps feeling but none of them made it right like Exodemon did for me.

It pains me to do this, but I must recommend against this game. There's pro's and con's and I *would* overall recommend it, however I encountered an unacceptable bug at the end of the game. I ran into an inexplicable stuck spot. Like, not even stuck in a crammed spot or anything. I put my foot on an elevator and was rendered completely immobile. Your only option in this game is to restart the entire level, as the game does not use manual saves and also does not have mid-level checkpoints. I stubbornly did not want to do that. If I could just move a pixel, I'd be out. I discovered there was a console, so I figured I could use a noclip mode to get out. I tried a few things that came to mind like "noclip" and "fly" and whatever, but nothing worked. Then I entered something like "teleport" or "tele" and for some reason this completed the level. Because the game is entirely autosaves and does not have a level select, my game was officially destroyed. After some digging I discovered it's po...

Yes. Graphics: 8-bit Quake. Music: More please, Mr. Hexenkraft. Gameplay: 8-bit Quake. Story: The Guyver meets Venom on a xeno purge to find a way home. Spookers: Suppose 8-bit aliens could be scary. Verdict: 8-bit Quake. Is good thing. Purge the xenos.

While this game suffers from some technical issues (missing textures, weird vsync artifacting), it more than makes up for them with gameplay and atmosphere. A great setting and fun retro story make the game worth playing despite the hiccups. While a small game in many ways, it has enough secrets and strangness to make several playthroughs seem worthwhile. Considering the technical problems surround its development, its a miracle it was even able to be released. If you want to support independent developers, there's every other reason to play Exodemon.

This is a great old-school FPS with fluid controls and great level design! Can't go wrong with this, specially at this low price.

I won't lie, when I first saw this game i wasn't exactly left feeling impressed or compelled to play it. Kind of just picked it up now on a whim in the hopes it might be interesting. I'm writing this review before I head to bed mostly because i feel compelled to. I'm about 42 minutes into this and I've been having a hard time convincing myself to put it down. This game is a blast and I would easily recommend it already. Effectively its a pseudo old school shooter, you run through various levels flipping switches, killing enemies, and juggling your very limited resources, ( ammo is at a premium here ). This game does use a checkpoint system, which whilst I will admit is a slight turn off the way its implimented into the game feels nice and I haven't found it to bothersome thus far. As you progress you unlock new gloves as opposed to guns ( but are basically functionally the same ) Fps staples such as a pistol like, a shotgun like, a... First Impressions: A solid retro-FPS game with tight movement mechanics, nice looking level design, good enemy variety and a fun and unique take on the weapons. Also features an awesome synthwave soundtrack by Hexencraft. Looks like it might be a bit on the short side, but it's still good value for the pricetag. Only issues so far have been the odd framerate dip (on a system that's well within the requirements) and the enemy A.I. will occasionally get stuck on geometry or derp out a bit if they lose line of sight on the player.

I have followed the game since the first demo since it was renamed Exodemon. I kind of have a strong relationship with this game; I fell in love with it's game play then, and am equally in love now. The game has changed a lot, enemies have changed in appearence, the icon with their image hasn't All I can really say is that this game is awesome, and I want more of it. I can't wait to finish the game and then play everything released by Kuupu afterwords.
