About This Game

Just updated! Welcome to the Museum's Second Floor!

See new sculptures, ride the elevator, check out the Café, and enjoy the new Water Lilies exhibition.

Welcome to The VR Museum of Fine Art, Steam's finest art gallery.

Depending on who you ask, of course.

If you've been training to be a space pirate and building fantastical contraptions all day, the Museum is your ticket to a well-deserved break. Surround yourself with 1:1 scale sculptures and paintings, and we won't tell anybody if you touch the merchandise! No rope barriers or glass walls here. Feel free to explore the artwork however you see fit. Roomscale VR lets you walk around, duck under, and even hug the life-sized figures.

The initial release of The VR Museum includes 15 high-fidelity sculptures, and more are coming. In addition, two famous paintings are included, scanned and rendered in crisp detail. In future releases, both collections of sculpture and paintings are sure to expand. The artwork is arranged thoughtfully into four exhibits, each with its own theme.

If you ever actually feel like learning something, informative holographic plaques are placed next to each piece of art. That does involve reading, though, and that's a lot of work.

Tickets are free, drinks are temporarily non-existent, and the artwork is pristine. Enjoy!

Great proof of concept, it left me wanting more. VR allows one to get closer to the art than most museums would let you.

Stunning texture details, easy to control and move around. Can't wait to show my friends. Please add more paintings and sculptures.

A great collection of sculpture scans that are very high quality. I've always wonder how big the terracotta army figures are. One sculpture was on the cover of my Latin book in high school, so it's amazing to finally come face to face with it. Lots of well-known touchstones and a massive outdoor statue. This is a collection that would be very difficult to see IRL because they reside in so many different locations. The upper floor was just added. It's got some interesting sculptures too. The new paintings are a big letdown despite being able to understand their scale. They have a repeating canvas pattern specular highlight, but topographically have no relation to the painting. I know it would be incredibly difficult to scan accurately, but I feel like without that element they're not worth displaying. Seeing some of Van Gogh's work in person completely changed my perspective on them and flat versions completely misrepresent them. But, you can't beat free, and in fact you should probab...

Not going to lie, I thought this was going to be some cheap looking deal, thought there's no way that art could look any good in a Vive with the SDE. Well, I was wrong. There's some familiar pieces here, and plenty that were new to me. It really is a VR Museum. They did a great job and it's worth your time to take at least a quick tour.

awesome, just awesome. Much respect to the dev for making it free. The statues are excellent and the shadows and lighting make them so realistic. The lighting on the paintings and how they move with your movement add to the realism. I feel like I'm in an actual museum, despite the plain empty feeling. In the future I hope it can expand. Imagine the possibilities!

I once visited Kykuit, the estate of the Rockefeller family—possibly the wealthiest family in human history. I thought it was so cool that they had a multi-story art museum in their house. Now I have a multi-story art museum in my house. And so can you, for the very reasonable price of FREE. Virtual reality is fucking awesome.

More art! Yeah!!! This is one of the best idea for VR, it's not much yet to look at but it really show how cool it could get Imagine visiting a museum without the crowd, or ticket, or restrictions you usually have! I love this one (even if I haven't "played" it much)
