About This Game

Temple of the Apsara is a VR exploration adventure puzzle experience unlike any other for the HTC VIVE.

From the breathtaking mountainside to the depths of the ancient ruins, Temple of the Apsara is a journey unlike any other you’ve ever been on.

You stumble across an ancient mountain temple fabled to hold a secret. You were given clues to those secrets by an old acquaintance, “Dr. W.” But as you embark unearthing the mysteries behind the ancient temple, you’ll begin to quickly realize there’s more to the temple than meets the eye.

The moment you immerse yourself in the hour long journey of an ancient Tibetan temple you’ll go on an adventure of a lifetime exploring the Temple while attempting to discover the mysterious entry to the lost caverns.

Be careful though. Searching the temple and contemplating its mysteries is not for the faint of heart.

Juddery and unplayable on my 1080 GTX! Beautiful visuals mean nothing if you can't play the game.

you are paying for a demo and not even a good one.
you throw a pear at a key and then you find a crystal and put it in a slot to open a door.
and then it ends before it even started.

As VR experiences go, this is a decent one given the price. The temple is interesting, if a bit basic, graphically, and the controls are standard real movement + teleport (my preferred method). However, I was unable to complete the game due to a warning that should be present on all VR games in the future with a particular feature, which is: CONTAINS SPIDERS Seriously, if you are an arachnophobe, it might be best skipping this. I played through A Chair In the Room and loved but, it giant spiders make me nope out of VR immediately. Could not complete for that reason, and likely won't play it again. So, so long as you don't mind big ass spiders, give it a whirl.

A few pretty scenes, but: - The game has terrible performance, even on a good machine. It made me feel sick - The one "puzzle" is frustrating due to bad physics or controls - The game is very short and apparently unfinished.

Cool idea, but isnt a game... barely an intro. And is very poorly optimized at this time. To generate interest the Dev should have made this free. A full, optimized game might be worth paying for, but not this.

From my experience this game is extremely buggy. In my 17 minutes of play, I: Crashed 9 times Had all the interactive items disappear twice. Had to restart the game 3 times to get it to recognize and use the controllers. While the visuals and audio are outstanding, and the price tag is low, that doesn't help if the game is unplayable.

Why did the game stop and say "to be continued" after I put the crystal in and pulled the handle? The only option was to quit or restart. Is that all there is to this game?

Brilliant. THough those are some of the heaviest, highest friction coefficient apples in the world. Stops just as it gets interesting, but unlike the other title that I refunded because of that, this made it plain upfront that it was unfinished - and didn't rush me £15 for it. Good effort, I look forward to this being made a full game. Make the puzzles harder though...

Cool little game. Very short, but more content is supposedly coming. I'll be showing this to friends who are new to VR. The graphics and sound are nice and I look forward to seeing where this goes. I was hoping someone would come out with an Indiana Jones type of game and this seems to be looking like it might evolve into one. Would be nice to have a whip and pistol.

So it is a teaser for a game rather than a full game. But it's a pretty decent teaser, and it does offer some interesting possibilities with a very classic adventure game style aesthetic going on for the duration. Given that VR development so far is pretty niche I'm okay paying a little for what's essentially a 10 minute demo. Just don't expect more than that, and you should have some fun with it.
