About This Game

The king is not a nice gent. He’s given you an ultimatum. Surrender your castle or be throne out. (See what I did there? Because the king sits on a throne. . .yeah? . . . never mind.) With an army of misfits at his beck and call, you’d better pick up that bow and arrow and settle in for some crown duels.

Castle Invasion is the fun, frantic challenge of defending your castle against an army.

  • 50 frantic, action packed levels.
  • 5 deadly bosses.
  • Use coins dropped by enemies to buy over 40 weapon upgrades.
  • Wizards, jesters, knights, dwarves, executioners and more in an army of medieval misfits.
  • Full to bursting with awful, awful puns.

Upgrade, equip and fire your way through an onslaught of attackers with state of the art weapons such as the bow and arrow or the spear. Each enemy type is different. An arrow to the face won’t solve all your problems.

Play through day and knight. . . and night. Fight the darkness with fire to keep torches lit and out of the dark ages. Alternatively, just fight everything with fire, I’m not here to judge.

In time trial levels you control the speed of enemies whilst trying to finish the level as quickly as possible. Yes, that does mean dwarf slo-mo take downs.

**QUICK THOUGHTS** Castle Invasion: Throne Out isn't really much to look at overall. It's a simple lane defense style game on par with Plants vs. Zombies, but with a little more action involved. You control an archer who just bought a castle and must defend it from the evil king and his hordes by running along the outter rim and shooting arrows, spears, etc., at the approaching foes. You can also upgrade them for maximum damage, as well as your speed to race from top to bottom. That said, I absolutely [em]loathe[/em] the controls. Up and down arrows control the direction of your hero, q and e survey the land and return to the castle, and time trial levels use a and d to speed up or slow down approaching enemies, while space bar fires. It doesn't seem like much but it's actually quite the complicated, uncomfortable controller scheme, especially when you have to use the number keys to switch out weaponry. The muscles in my arms are actually tight and in a bit of pain from the tension I...

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could pla...

Cute little game with funny/humour bits in it. Takes about 4 hours to complete the game Steam cards are expensive though if you're looking for badges

Intuitive controls and funny dialogue. The ability to upgrade weapons using coins makes gameplay addictive as you want to keep playing to collect as many coins as possible to get the best weapons possible! Also, multiple goals for each level offers various degrees of difficulty - makes you want to replay the levels numerous times to reach the top score! Good value for money, would definitely recommend

The store trailer is quite well made from a cinematic and comic point but the game doesn't live up to it. Not all controls can't be rebinded (and worse, some buttons are fakely rebinded) and game balance feels quite off, the dev didn't test its own game. Also, it's camera system is quite bizzare as a fixed positions very far away. Why not have scrolling as most games of it's type?
