Best game in the series, incredible story, great characters, and a very well-rendered 1950s atmosphere. In terms of gameplay and game mechanics, it's also the most advanced. The game lasts about 12 hours and has DLC, and in my opinion, it's definitely worth the price. I highly recommend it.

Mafia II is a masterpiece that never gets old. I’ve completed it countless times, earned all the achievements, and it’s still one of my all-time favorites. The game’s world is so immersive, and the narrative so compelling, that even after multiple playthroughs, I still enjoy it as much as the first time. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves deep stories and great gameplay.
Mafia II is my fave game of all time! Especially the driving mechanics and beautifully detailed settings.
This game is just pure love and nostalgia for that times.I wish there is more games like this and i have good hopes for Mafia Old Country...Music is Goated too in game radio...11/10
Play this version, not the horrendous, buggy mess of a "definitive edition". Mafia 2 deserves the praise, phenomenal game.
I’ve played Mafia II all the way through and got all the achievements, but I’ve never been as hooked on it as I was with the first game. The story is good in parts, but it never really grabbed me the same way. I think a big part of that is the time jumps — it starts in the 1940s during the war, then skips forward after Vito gets out of jail into the 50s. I get why they did it (to have multiple eras of cars, music, and style), but it made the game feel like three different worlds instead of one connected journey. Vito going to jail in the middle of the story always felt like it killed the momentum. That said, there are moments I love — especially the crossover where you deal with Tommy from Mafia 1. That was a great touch, even if I wasn’t a fan of the cop chase afterwards. The open world is nice to drive around in, but there’s not much to actually do outside of the main missions. As for the DLCs, Jimmy’s Vendetta and Joe’s Adventures were okay, but neither real...
If you are a fan of mob era story telling and the aesthetic of that time period this is THE game to play. An amazing time period accurate soundtrack combined with the general overall vibe of the game creates one of the most unique and realistic feeling environments in video games. Gunplay is a simple cover shooter, however it executes this very well and rarely do the levels feel sloppy or out of place, however the cover system can lead to the occasional moment of frustration. Cars feel accurate to the time period, this is not always the best feeling for gameplay however the weight and feel of the cars deliver a unique and unmatched driving system. The story is simply one of the best in gaming and in the mafia-type genres of media, arguably competing with the likes of the godfather in my opinion, I replay this time and again just to experience vito's story. I would also reccomend this version over the remaster as it's usually cheaper and can be visually enhanced with nexus mods a...
The black sheep of the series (so far, I haven't played Old Country). Aside from Joe, none of the characters are fun or memorable. I genuinely need to see a character on screen to know who's being discussed. I can't remember by name alone. In comparison to the original it's simply no contest. Everyone is a glorified NPC compared to those of the original. As for the story there's a lot of "and now this happens", "and now this happens". At some point your sister shows up with a problem and you sort it. She's barely a notable character so far in the game, and I don't think I'll see her again after. Just a "hello here's a whole chapter about her and her problems which has absolutely no bearing on the rest of the story". Another guy showed up and then died the following chapter. There was no evidence of his existence prior, just simply: "hey I'm so-and-so and this is my story". Then oops, he's gone. It feels like I'm playing a bunch of individual stories which don't necessarily even need ...
Still a great game. Play this instead of the messy Definitive Edition. Limit your FPS to 60, though, to avoid crashes. Other than that, it runs great.
