I like the idea for this game, and so far it's fairly fun. However, I think it would be better with some tweaks to the control scheme. I don't like how pushing up on the d-pad/analog stick makes you go diagonally northeast/west. I think making it so that you can press the d-pad/analog stick in that diagonal direction would make a lot more sense, and contribute to smoother controls. As of right now, I seem to be constantly fighting the controls in order to move in the direction that I want to go. They're not very intuitive at all. Edit: They tweaked the controls so that on controller, you have diagonal movement, and on keyboard/mouse you can click where you want to move and look where the mouse is. Great fixes so far and I'm very happy with how fast these updates have been rolling out!

Even after watching some gameplay videos, I wasn't sure if Mushroom Crusher Extreme was a good game, so I was definitely taking a bit of a risk when I purchased in. I'm glad I did because this game has proven to be way more enjoyable than I was expecting! I'm still not too far into the game (level 8 out of what looks to be 24 levels), but the difficulty has already escalated in a substantial, yet not unfair, way. One of the main reasons why I wasn't sure if this game would be worthwhile or not is how slowly most enemies move and attack. I thought this might be the type of game where it could be a real challenge to get a high rank on every level, but where there was little challenge in simply finishing a level because so many of the enemies looked trivial. I was right to a degree; the enemies are not at all difficult individually and the first few maps are indeed very easy as you have little to worry about beyond the standard hopping red mushrooms and one or two other enemy types. Howe...
What a nice little game this is, i bought it for the art style and the graphics and end loving the game mechanics and challenge of the levels. This game is a mix between action and puzzle, where you complete levels and challenges and get power unlocks in return. The enemy variety is good, the levels are well tought and the challenge is good. Another thing to notice is that the game feels finished. Very good game more than worth the asking price.
Worst game ever
Fun game. Good music, interesting game play mechanics. Mostly played through online-coop with a friend. The skill / trinket / leveling system is pretty well balanced and fun. The balancing of spells between your party is also a cool way to encouragement teamwork / play style. Well wroth the money!
This is a weird yet fun game, especially when playing online with a friend! The controls feel a bit wonky at first, but once you get the hang of them—like holding LB (or Shift) to aim—it makes more sense. There’s a slight delay in movement, which can feel odd, and the game throws a lot of information at you, but if you just roll with it, it’s a blast. It’s simple yet surprisingly challenging, though some content may be locked behind high scores (still unsure on that). Highly recommended for co-op! Playing with a friend makes the confusion part of the fun. 🎮😂
Great game split screen local coop. Once you get used to the controls its a blast.
OK,I'm having problems. 1: controlling the character is weird because the game is diagonal and you can only move in 4 directions, blockwise 2:enemies that are on you do not get damaged 3:what the hell is the return button?how do i proceed to the nextt level?also escape doesn't work either
This game is a hidden gem. It’s become literally my favourite splitscreen co-op game in my library, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a local multiplayer game. It’s hard to believe this game has been so overlooked and has only 9 user reviews at the time of writing despite having been released nearly 4 years ago and the fact that it only cost me $2 CAD on sale. Mushroom Crusher Extreme is a retro-style, isometric score-attack game with colourful pseudo-3D pixel graphics and an awesome 16-bit soundtrack. It feels like something straight out of the Sega Genesis library. The game can be played singleplayer, local splitscreen co-op or online co-op, but I would say it shines the most as a local splitscreen co-op game. Like the games of that era, the basic gameplay of each level is simple and identical: defeat all enemies in a level (or as many as possible) before the time runs out and so you can get as high a score as possible. But there’s more depth and skill ceiling he...
Weird fun game where you can play online with a friend. So weird but so fun too. The controls are a bit wonky to start off, but once you understand it's much better. For example, you need to hold down like LB to aim and not move or shift on keyboard. There's also a small delay before you move and such it can feel odd. But it's still really fun. It's very simple of a game, but still kind of hard too. It's also pretty short I think with some of the game hidden behind high scores? Not sure how I feel about that. Not even sure that's the case. The game kind of has a lot of information spattered at you, but if you just ignore it you can have a good time. Really just recommend with a 2nd player though. Then they can not know what is going on either.
