Didn't think I'd ever play over 100 hours. This is probably the best third person zombie survival sandpark. The multiplayer is a scam though. Why am I not allowed to share a community with a friend? Having two separate communities introduces interesting aspects like trading but completely severs the immersion and enjoyability of the survival multiplayer aspect. There should at the very least be an option to create a shared community.

About the Game
State of Decay 2 is an open-world survival-fantasy game set just after the zombie apocalypse. Your small community of survivors seeks to rebuild a corner of civilization, and you get to make all the decisions about how that happens. You decide who to recruit to your team, where to settle your community, how to fortify and upgrade your base, and when it’s time to move to greener pastures. You select which survivor to bring along on a scavenging run for the food and ammo you need, and who you’ll use to fight off the zombies attacking your base. You choose how you’ll deal with other people who move into your town. Will you be friendly and welcoming... or will you aggressively defend your territory?
Every player’s experience in the sandbox is unique. Each character in your community has their own special set of skills and traits, so no two communities are ever the same. The challenges you face also vary from game to game, based on who you recruit and the decisions you make along the way.
With co-op multiplayer support, you can visit your friends' communities and help them through a tough spot, bringing back rewards for your own communities later. Alternate game modes include a full 10-hour narrative campaign and a four-player zombie-slaughtering "siege defense" mode.
Undead Labs is proud to present our best-ever vision of the zombie apocalypse. Keep your eyes peeled and your weapons ready. This is one apocalypse you won't want to miss.

The lack of story and the mostly repetitive gameplay just isn't for me. It is the first game all over, but with more weapons The game is big, flashy, but empty and not very complex. You basically do the same chores over and over again. Scavenge, grow, and move to the next base, then repeat. Base building is not a very complex thing. You can only build some buildings, but no way to upgrade your defenses with better fences or traps. There is no way to personalize it. The same 5 enemies everywhere, and the heart is the only thing that is challenging, if you don't prepare enough firepower, of course. Weapons are all the same: bladed, clubs, and guns. There are no unique weapons like a chainsaw or a similar stupid thing that could make the killing fun. Also, the zeds are respawning, so the killing became boring pretty fast, and I avoided it when I could in the end. It is not satisfying. This game only wastes time in a bad way. You can't set up your own goals because each start and eve...
It's like a Harvest Moon game, but instead of taking care livestocks and crops, you take care whiny survivors because you forgot to bring home a food in your supply run and now the entire home base is mad. 9/10 I hate managing people in the zombie apocalypse.
If you read steam reviews, you've almost certainly come across the term, or something similiar, "almost good." I don't think I've every played a game where the phrase is more applicable. This game is ALMOST really good. Other reviews have talked about how repetitive it is, and honestly I can see that perspective if you are going in expecting a more structured zombie survival game with a story narritive or a 7 days to die style survival/crafting game. This game is pretty fast paced, repetitive, and can be pretty intense and stressful at times. It's hard to explain using just adjectives, so let me break it down. Basically you start with three survivors who are assigned skills based on RNG (you can reroll as many times as you like and save survivors in a "legacy pool") you can recruit more survivors along the way but overall, your goal is to clear the map of these "hearts" (basically flesh blobs with lots of health and zombies protecting them), do that and you beat the game, or that m...
unfortunately you have to log in your microsoft account to log in everytime you want to play.. and it lead to error until it says "TO MANY REQUEST".. and the only solution is to create a new microsoft account everytime you log in.. and the dev have abandoned this game and im just talking to myself.. wtf
this shitty game make you login to some xbox live account or microsoft for playing the game.... i wish i could refund it....
Some good, some bad. Better than #1 at least. But, the multiplayer is still bad. I'd rather have the option to be one of the host's characters or be able to be upgraded to a "co-owner" of the community so I don't feel totally separated from the host's game. Not to mention the separate looting spots for the both of us, why can't I just loot an entire house for them and give it to their community.
Didn't understood it at the start. After I gave it another chance I fell in love... Can't stop playing the game
The state of decay gameplay formula is truly unique, you won't find anything like it. The game is a huge improvement over the original. There is little to no story in the base game, but a nice one in Heartland expansion. Getting to build an entire survival community, making alliances, destroying enemy communities, killing zombies, it was all great. I only wish that the base building and enclave mechanics are expanded in the next game.
Whoever designed the coop was definately on something. You can join each others game, however the loot/inventory/base isnt shared. So your friend cant deposits loot into their own seperate stash, they basically act as an extra NPC and it just makes the game weird
