This game sucked. Anti player bias to the max. Enemies would ignore and run past your allies just to kill you. Enemies will run past their other enemies just to kill you. Your allies barely kill anything "ill cover you" is the biggest lie they will tell. Campaign was short and predictable. The aliens will jump past everyone directly at you. Besides some good jump scares i would not waste more than 3 bucks on this game.

First impressions from someone who got this on a 75% discount, loves Aliens and read River of Pain (story of Hadleys Hope, prior to Aliens). I see this game as a bag of fun. It's a nice distraction if you don't expect to much and know what you're getting in to. Don't get me wrong, it has bugs, graphics are dated, it's not worth full price. If you live under a rock and this is your first exposure to the world of Aliens go watch the films or play Alien Isolation, This shouldn't be your introduction to the franchise.
Colonial Marines is a game that's hard to recommend, and even with my current rating, I'd say it's more of a mixed bag. Nominally, this is a classic case of a bad game: graphics that were hideously dated at the time of its launch (remember, Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, and The Last of Us had all launched this same year), abysmal storytelling, horrific boss design, and gameplay that felt too akin to Call of Duty's arcade style as opposed to the survival horror shooter we'd been promised, on top of a clearly fraudulent marketing campaign and borked AI that was only "fixed" nearly a decade after its launch. These would all be enough to give an easy negative review. And yet, there's a sort of charm to CM. Make no mistake, the graphics were unacceptably bad for the time, and yet the environments go to great lengths to be as accurate to the movie depictions of LV-426. The weaponry, alien design, and even the styles of new original guns are painstakingly crafted to fit flawlessly into the worl...
It's not perfect but, THERE IN THE WALLS!!!!!!!

Warning some spoilers for A.C.M, aliens and alien 3
PROS: After finishing the campaign all I have to say is that the game is pretty solid most of the mechanics are decent and I enjoyed the majority of the main story missions + the actual story, the maps looked like something from the Alien franchise and I liked the weapon mods and modules. This is a great game to pick up during a Steam sale for those how are looking for another shooter to play (I recommend using controller). CONS: bloom, GOD DAM BLOOM. every one knows the line "short controlled bursts" well you cant do short bursts to limit bloom, it will slow it down yes, but only by 0.5 seconds now yes using the sights limits the bloom even more but on some weapons It dose little to none at all. You can be attacked while doing objectives that prevent movement, like yes I know your suppose to be doing this with a friend but if you have no friends then the AI will ...

Game Over Man!
I don't think I can say a lot about Aliens: Colonial Marines that hasn't been said before. The history, the development hell, the release disaster and the bugs. So I won't. What I can do is review this from someone who didn't follow the development at that time. That went into this knowing that it's going to be bad. That only expected bad things from this game. First, a PSA: There are quite a few things to do before you start playing this game that can improve the experience. I recommend going to pcgamingwiki before playing. So I expected the game to be abhorrent. A failure in every aspect possible. So how was it? It was actually ok. The story is bad. It's nonsense at the best of times and the dialogue is bad. Very bad. The voice acting is also subpar. The graphics is pretty bad for 2011. It looks like a mid tier 2007 game mostly, with games like Bioshock looking much better. The gameplay is.... serviceable. It's not great but it works. The ai isn't the best but it's serviceable. T...
