About This Game

In the roomscale VR wavegame Orc Hunter you have to defend yourself against hordes of orcs. To do so you can either use swords in close combat or fight them with a bow or magic staff from a distance.

Key Features:

- Room scale VR
To create a lifelike feeling, Orc Hunter uses the HTC Vives' roomtracking as the way to control the players movement.

- Motion controlled weapons
You use both of the vives' motioncontrollers to freely pick your weapons.
Besides swords, you can currently choose a bow, a mace or a shield.

Discord:

If you are interested about the features we will add in the future, you should check the disussions. You can find them on the right side of the store page.

I am surprised this received all around positive reviews. The price point is fantastic and the graphics are amazing, but the sword combat is awful. As well as the teleport system is still very much a work in progress. The teleport system shows you a blue light when you can travel to a location and a red light when you cannot. It seems like most places you can't travel to for no reason what-so-ever. Overall this game could be great, but needs a lot of polish. It's still in early access and will gladly change my review when more updates are released.

First impressions.... no sound, glitchy teleporting (even worse than the original demo somehow...) and an overall feel that this title should have been a free early access. As a developer who is VERY much an amatuer myself, even I feel this game needs months of work before it's ready to ask people for any money at all.

If you like the demo you will like the game. The game is orc killing fun and its by no means an easy game, so be prepared to sweat when your swinging your sword (or drawing your bow)! It is in early access though so not all features are in the game but its still really cool!

Worst vr game ever. Just play quest for the golden trophy on rec room for free instead of spending 10 bucks for this trash.

I honestly don't like knocking games, but this is just madness. It took me 15 mins just to work out how to start the first mission, then once in I didn't have a clue what I was doing, where is my bow and arrow, how do i change weapons, what's my health, why am I there, what am I, orc, elf, human, dinosaur??? It really is just a quick put together vr game with no sense of nothing. I don't get it

Well it WAS great until I got really into it and discovered the collision logic is absolute garbage. Try blocking and you'll suffer frequent pop-through behavior from the amateur night collision code. Looks like pure keyframing and low-res interpolation, no proper collision logic. Pop-throughs *should not happen*. I loved this game until I got good enough at it to hate it. Now I really hate it. That only took about 48 hours.

Game is stuck on credits from start. Contacted developer and have yet to receive help. Can't get a refund because steam says I have over 6 hours of game time. Not sure how when the game has never made it past the start up screen.

Some things to note -Blocking the "bigger orcs with HP numbers" is hit or miss on my end even if my shield is up and am on flat ground against the enemy. This gets worse on hills because its like their hitting my legs. Did not even attempt to try to block their attacks with the dual wield "cool wield" setup. -I liked how in the F2P demo the bow was easier to use, and what i mean by that is the bow doesn't attempt to "auto-correct" itself when you draw it. Am sure those who used the bow in the F2P demo can understand what i mean the bow felt more "flexible" if i can find any way to describe it.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Note for Oculus users on Windows 10: It's UE4 and you do have to do a Windows 7 compatibility fix Where do I start? Well, I got this game in a bundle. I would not have paid any money for this game. I had already tried the demo so I wasn't expecting much. And yeah, I think I got even less. This game is basically broken. Teleportation doesn't really work in this game. You have to keep trying several times to move. It will show you places you can and you can't go (yellow or red). However, sometimes you try to teleport to a place you have just been and it says you can't teleport back there. I had more difficulty trying to teleport than I did with the orcs. Which brings us to the second problem, combat is awful. Now, the bow & arrow felt fine. But the sword / melee combat is just terrible. You basically just wiggle your wrists in front of you. There's no skill involved, other than not being flanked by the orcs, wh...
