About the Game

Praey for the Gods is a boss climbing open world adventure game where you play as a lone hero sent to the edge of a dying frozen world to discover the mystery behind a never-ending winter. Arriving with only the clothes on your back, you must survive the colossal dangers that you encounter. To restore balance and reclaim the land from the brink, you will be faced with questions that not even a God knows the answer to.

Scale Massive Beasts

Overcome impossible odds to climb atop and defeat the massive beasts that are bound to this land.

Climb, Glide, Swim

You can climb on virtually anything you can get your hands on, from ruins and mountains to the massive beasts that inhabit the land. Ascend to the tops of mountains and then glide over the open world to reach previously inaccessible locations. Swim in frigid water to uncover hidden locations that contain secrets and treasure, but don't stay in too long or your swim could become your last.

Explore, Craft, and Survive

You'll arrive on a frozen island with only the clothes on your back -- it's up to you to survive. Make fires, hunt for food, and find the equipment you need to make it through an eternal winter. Nature isn't the only danger, so craft weapons, defeat minions for better gear, and venture into long forgotten caves to discover their secrets. Triumphing over these trials will prepare you for the impossible odds that wait.

Make Your Path

Praey for the Gods is a non-linear game where you choose who you battle and how. While destiny will give you a nudge, virtually all the large beasts can be attempted in any order allowing you to set the course.

Unravel the Mystery

Why won't the winter stop? Why has no one returned? Cryptic paintings left behind allude to a story once thought forgotten. To restore balance and reclaim the land, you will be faced with questions that not even the gods know the answer to.

A Beautifully Frigid World

Explore a landscape of unending winter framed by snow-capped peaks and crawling fog. The remnants of an ancient civilization lie before you, but don't let awe turn into carelessness -- snow storms can crop up at any moment and bury you in a blizzard. Luckily, you can leave footprints in the snow and follow your footsteps back if you are lost.

About the Development Team

Praey for the Gods is being created by No Matter Studios a tiny studio of 3. Brian Parnell, Tim Wiese (glasses) and Hung-Chien Liao. In 2014, the friends began working after-hours on their first game. By January 2016, they had enough confidence in their progress to leave game-studio jobs in San Francisco and move to Seattle. Working in Parnell’s basement, they pursued an all-or-nothing dream to make the game of their dreams.

It took me 3 hours to defeat the 7th boss. That's not even the last boss. Why was the 7th boss so hard? I'll tell you: -critical grapple points so dark I do not notice them -getting hit by things that i visibly dodge clear out of the way from -falling off the monster because the MC controls like a drunk with no fingers. -somehow climbing INSIDE the 3d model of the monster and getting stuck? Why WASN'T the 7th boss hard? -because it was a difficult fight. When this game is easy, it's fun. When it's challenging (from the 5th beast onward, the first 4 were normal and fun) it feels like it's because the game is broken not because the tasks before you actually require more skill than you have—you can already jump and attack and climb etc just fine, the big problem is SHE CONTROLS LIKE TOTAL DOG SH**. It's honestly worse than Shadow of the Colossus and that's strange to say because that game is infamous for its stiff janky controls. I truly thought an updated spiritual successor to th...

I was looking forward to this game for years before it came out. Thankfully it did not disappoint. Challenging in some areas and easy in others. The world exploration is top notch and I found myself trying to crawl into every nook and cranny I came across.

Look no further for a means to scratch that shadow of the colossus itch. Fun, simple couch game to play and explore

Well, I'm rating it positively but I will not be playing more for now I think. Shadow of the colossus is one of my favourite games so I got this, but the story beats so far are exactly the same but just not as good as a timeless classic. You start off somewhere, you climb a wall, you fight a first colossus, you show up at a sanctuary where an icon of the first colossus fades showing more remaining. A faceless and powerful voice talks to you except its not dormin its the norn sisters or something. the language is a made up language. I feel like it's basically going to be the exact same game but simply not as good in the environmental storytelling. BUT if you really need to scratch the itch and don't want to replay sotc for some reason this game will do exactly that.

Clunky Shadow of the Colossus Themes of the world and battles are great, but boss fights are annoying not challenging because of the clunky controls and stamina mechanic. Also the puzzles within the fights are easy, the real challenge is the annoyance. Traversing the world is okay since the world looks amazing but the stamina makes it annoying too Music is mediocre too Overall don't expect a masterpiece like Sotc, more like a fan game of the Sotc. tbh the best thing in the game was the redhead nordic tribal baddie
