About This Game

Laraan is experienced best when using a controller. A Windows or Xbox game pad is ideal.

Laraan is a Science-Fiction game about exploration in a desolate world. Created with a minimalist low poly style. Accompanied by a splendid movie soundtrack.
You’re about to enter an old world of computer entertainment. Laraan bridges the gap between Cinema and Action/Adventure games with a completely old style of fluid, cinematic storytelling. Laraan is experienced best when using a controller, a Windows or Xbox game pad is ideal.

Using a completely old graphic system of cinematic zooms, pans, close-ups, and cuts, Laraan gets you involved in a breathtaking story of inter-dimensional travel.

You’ll duck as lasers saber, boulder crash, and monsters roar. The complete musical score and realistic, digitized sound effects will make you feel like you’re on a movie sound stage.

I am enjoying this game but can totally see why it has received a "Mixed" reception. The gameplay of Laraan is very simple platforming, consisting mostly of running ahead and jumping between cliffsides while avoiding falling to your "death" (you are just warped back to a checkpoint) or running into various traps (ceilings that collapse and kill you, or blades that spring from walls...) the game's graphical style is all very abstract and minimalistic, which is part of the reason I was drawn to it. Laraan frames itself with a somewhat religious storyline at its opening, but it doesn't beat you over the head with that kind of content throughout the game itself. Laraan looks pretty good in motion and your character's main running animation is well-done, which you will see most often. The jump is also pretty well-animated but it does begin to look a bit strange seeing it repeated over and over. The same sound effect loops every time you use the jump, which you will be doing often, regarl...

The game was bearable for the first 20 minutes or so. The camera control is terrible making movement very difficult. The movement is a whole differnt story. The first maze is when I call it quits. Impossible deal with. Character detection is terrible. I died by walking into a non moving trap door. I actually hated the game the moment I started the game. The music is interesting but super loud. On top of that, there are no settings options. Good concept but I rather play clicker hero than this.

I love it, the esthetic, the music, this feeling of being alone in this world. I just finished the game playing with Xbox pad and no problem so far with the control.

For being an indie game and the low price I strongly recommend it. Player control is trying to simulate "Last Guardian" one, I prefer to play with pad. Low poly style and the ambient music are amazing, I love it. Still in the desert level but wishing to see more :)

I wanted to like this game, I really did. I think the art style is interesting and the aesthetic is very nice. The game however, is heavily flawed with a terrible control scheme and unresponsive controls. I hope in the future the dev takes the time to fix this game. It could have been something great.

Quite a short, weird, abstract walking simulator. Great soundtrack and a strange world. Oddly beautiful. However I cannot recommend this game at all due to it's terrible controls, movement and unpolished feel, for example your cursor going off-screen. The world is badly designed in my opinion, the developer didn't properly explain things through the game play/world, making you go places you weren't supposed to go or come to a road-block where you don't understand what you're supposed to do. No real story to speak off and the game feels extremely unpolished. It feels like the developer didn't put that much work into. I'm not saying they didn't put work into it, but when you leave it a mess it certainly feels like it. They built it and decided to leave the rough edges. They put the food on the plate but decided it wasn't necessary to clean up the plate after the fact. I really do enjoy these walking simulator games. I love weird and abstract games but do not expect me to give your gam...

You obviously don't know how to implement movement and camera angle rotation. Next time copy and paste all the code, not only half, and also copy the right code. however, great job, the game is very frustrating. In love and friendship, your dear Ass.hole.
