About This Game

FINAL EDITION

Rundown 8.0 – Duality brings the story of the prisoners in the Complex to its riveting culmination. With all rundowns available in GTFO: Final Edition you and your team have more than 80 nail-biting challenges to suffer through. More than most people ever will be able to endure.

About the Game

Your team of prisoners is dropped into the Rundown when a new Work Order is issued by The Warden, the mysterious entity holding you captive. The Rundown is a series of expeditions, each one taking you deeper into a decayed research facility called The Complex. You descend level by level, scavenging tools and resources that help you survive in a perilous network of tunnels where gruesome creatures lurk in every shadow. Complete all the expeditions to fulfill the Work Order and clear the Rundown.

GTFO is designed for prisoner teams of four, putting cooperation at the core of the experience. Bots can fill your lineup if you’re short one or two players. They’ll follow you through expeditions, sneak when you sneak, collect resources, and fight alongside you. They’re a good fallback, but the level of communication and tactical combat in GTFO means it’s best to play with people.

A strategy is necessary to clear the Rundown. Before you drop into The Complex, your team needs to decide what gear, boosters, and weapons to bring. You must also balance the team, identifying the function of each prisoner so that you know what to do when things go wrong. And they will. They always do.

Stealth and coordination are necessary to survive as you maneuver through The Complex. Many of the creatures of GTFO are suspended in a state of hibernation, so light, noise, and vibrations can easily wake up these Sleepers. And if one of them knows you’re there, they all know. That’s when things get messy.

You’ll need heavy weaponry and a clear mind when the shit hits the fan. Check your line of fire, force them through bottlenecks, set up your kill zones and reload every chance you get. These creatures stop at nothing, and neither should you. Once the mayhem starts, you have no choice but to put every last one of them down.

Clearing expeditions and Rundowns will reward you with new cosmetic gear. Wear it with pride, as it proves to your peers you’ve been to hell and back. The Sleepers, on the other hand, will not care for a second.

The game is pretty decent, but they created a new extremely sketchy EULA that even had typos in it, it was about consenting to personal data collection, not using a vpn, consenting to shady 3rd party software running in the background without the dev telling us anything about it, honestly it's a disaster, I don't think I want to play this anymore.

Truly a fabulous game, but it is important that you manage your expectations. What it is NOT: - Easy - Only a shooter game - A solo game What it IS: - Extremely difficult and taxing - A strategic experience - Team-based gameplay Easy to learn, impossible to master. Buy at your own risk.

**10/10 Would get screamed at by monsters again** If you’re tired of games that hold your hand, GTFO is here to punch your comfort zone in the face—and then send a horde of terrifying monsters to finish the job. This game is basically “Escape Room: Apocalypse Edition” where teamwork is less “Let’s chat and vibe” and more “Why did Steve just run into that room screaming?” GTFO has perfected the art of making you question every life choice while simultaneously making you laugh at your own panic-induced mistakes. Pro tip: Always bring friends, or prepare to have your soul crushed solo. The sound design alone will have you jumping like a cat in a thunderstorm, and the darkness? Let’s just say your flashlight is your best frenemie. If you love sweaty palms, heart-racing moments, and that delicious combo of terror and triumph, this game is your new best nightmare. I’m 90% sure my neighbors think I’m auditioning for a horror movie. In summary: GTFO doesn’t just m...

Every time I boot up this game I remember why I hate it. There's no familiarity and comfortable place you can get into with this game, because it immediately punishes you for not conforming to the meta. Bring a primary with a lot of bullets, and a secondary to kill scouts. Make one mistake and you die. Even if you do everything perfectly, the devs will throw a mother or a tank at you to immediately cut your health in half or straight kill you. The only way I have gotten past most levels is through glitches where my friend gets infinite landmines or infinite health, and even then, its a miserable experience. This is a game very similar to league of legends, where instead of playing something fun, you feel like you're doing homework on a sunday evening, rushing to get everything done before the monday when its all due. This game used to be fun, but then Markiplier soloed the levels and the GTFO devs cranked up the difficulty way too fucking high. Running away from a monster you cannot ki...

Way too complex at the start, boring gun play and doesn't have any replay feel to it. Sucks cos I was really looking forward to a good horror experience........instead I can't even remember if I got passed the first mission it was that crap.

Its just too unstable and there is no quality of life. We spend 30 minutes preparing for a reactor mission, game crashes occasionally but people can reconnect theoretically so its fine, but then the host crashes and then cant rejoin because (waiting for master). Then everyone loses all of their boosters because the game is trash, and we need to go through a 30 minute setup again with worse boosters. Because the game is trying to look all cool and stuff it takes way to long to deal with problems, and the game doesnt describe errors. Waiting for master gives me nothing to try and fix.

Its hard to recommend this game. Its game play is really fun but a lot of the time, the enemies are way too unforgiving, especially with ranged attacks that are like heat seeking missiles and the fact that even with stealth, you can still wake the monsters up, messing up a stealth attempt. The devs are already done supporting the game and with the only progression based unlockables being cosmetics that don't affect game play in the slightest, don't bother with it, unless its on a really good sale. its just not worth the hassle.

Bought this game many years ago when it was still early access and only played it a handful of times on some of the earlier rundowns with a random team each time which went.... about as well as you'd expect with the game being pretty fresh and enemy behaviors weren't well understood yet. Fast forward to the time this is written and the game is completely dead. If you actually buy this game in 2025, your teammates will be only bots and they are AWFUL. The things that these bots prioritize over not dying or simply not fighting back is incredible and I've had some perfect runs thrown by their mistakes. This game is simply not worth the time invested into every single mission just to fail anyways and start all over, whether the game is dead or not.

if you like walking around stabbing things with bats and sticks and losing an hour of progress because you die at the very end of a level, then this is the game for you!
