Version 1.2 Update, I have to amend my original review somewhat since the developer has updated Chess VR with version 1.2. They have listened to the community and have improved on this. My original review listed a handful of negitives about ChessVR which some have been addressed. The graphics have improved as well as the addtion of fantasy based characters which I must admit are a nice addition. Feels a little like Wizards Chess from the Harry Potter Universe. Animation has been added, although a little slow at times it now allows you to not only see the movements your opponent makes but also looks great. Music too has been added. Tranquil but little repetitive Still missing for me though is: Sound effects for the pieces AI settings I personnaly would like to see use of the room scale VR for this but thats just me being picky. All in all a huge improvement to this game and its now at a playable version. I will be keeping an eye on any future releases in hope that the sound effect...

Very nice VR Chess game. In the newest update, they even added Difficulty levels. +Looks good +Has 10 challenges +Different difficulties +You can fly around on the field and view the board from different angles -Speed while flying very slow -Sometimes the Bot does not make the move in challenges -only 10 challenges -it doesn't tell you what to do in the challenges (you allways need to achieve checkmate in 2 moves) But still very fun and i can recommend it to any chess player that owns a VR Headset I wish for a multyplayer so that you could play it with your friends and a mode with time.

I am recomending this game for those who love battle chess games. It's an excellent example of what can be done with VR. Unfortunately, I can't play it because I preprefer the standard chess pieces. I get too easily confused which piece is which. I wish it had the standard chess pieces and then lets you replay your game with the cool character they created. This VR game is about as simple as it gets. There are almost no features to talk about, but its worth checking out and hope the developers beef it up a bit more. My favorite aspects of this game is the self contained (small) open world. The fact that you can move up down and anywhere you want with no limitations, and finally the cool looking chess pieces. That's about the scope of the whole program. Very simple. Oh yea, they have chess puzzles too but I haven't tried those out, and the developer has been quiet for almost a year. Waiting to hear anything from the developer.

I already have Fritz 14 and 3d Chess on Oculus. I was hoping ChessVR would have options for a real life table opposite a VR opponent not some fantasy chess characters. The camera controls are limited and the range of levels are extremely limited. It's not optimised for Oculus but for the Vive so there is a horrible blue circle around the base. Got a refund quite quickly.

The game shows a blackscreen only on desktop and no visuals in VR, no sound either.

I don't know why people are giving bad reviews about this game? I think it's pretty good.
