This is the game that made me love text-based, simulation, and immersive games. Getting to listen in on people's conversations is so fun, it really treats the nosy part of me. Sitting and playing this with a friend is great. Even when the characters feel one-note, it's mainly because you can only get to know them so well, from their texts and posts. The constant commentary from Symes could get annoying, but they've made him like, opinionated and a little funny, so he becomes your work friend. They get a LOT out of the UI. Its politics aren't as well-read as, say, Disco Elysium, and I think appeals to a more centrist, liberal perspective, but all in all, a fun choices matter adventure, especially for people new to the genre.

About the Game
Big Brother has arrived - and it’s you. Investigate the lives of citizens to find those responsible for a series of terror attacks. Information from the internet, personal communications and private files are all accessible to you. But, be warned, the information you supply will have consequences…Orwell is a new governmental security program that has the power to survey the online presence of every person in The Nation. It can monitor all personal communications and access any computer. To preserve the privacy of citizens, human researchers examine the data Orwell finds and decide which pieces of information should be passed on to the security forces, and which should be rejected.
Selected from thousands of candidates, you are Orwell’s first human researcher. And when a terror attack rocks the Nation’s capital city of Bonton, Orwell, and you, are immediately put to the test. Starting with a single person of interest, you'll help the security forces build out and profile a network of potential culprits.
But are these people really terrorists? What does the information you reveal to Orwell say about them? What if you find out things about them that not even their loved ones know? What is the real price of maintaining the security that the Nation is yearning for?

While the premise is interesting, Orwell could afford to be less heavy handed with its 1984 references, and a little more liberal with its dialogue skipping. Rating: 6/10
What I liked

I did enjoy how the story progressed; slowly unfolding the dystopian drama.[/*]
The world building was excellent. It was a great idea to give players to opportunity to learn about the world by providing them with extra in-universe articles to read.[/*]
The mechanics were clever and unique.[/*]

What I didn't like

The speed at which the dialogue cycled was painfully slow, even at the game’s max speed. This makes replaying the game extremely difficult.[/*]
I did notice some spelling and grammatical errors, which really detracts from a text-heavy game.[/*]
Fun game. Interesting story. I replay it once every few years.
It was entertaining, but I didn't manage to choose what I wanted as a finale, so the end felt crumpled
You are Zuckerberg
A nice political detective story that plays itself nicely. It is however flawed in its pacing with the impossibility to make dialogues go faster, probably to artificially increase the playtime. Also, even though I know it's on purpose, the fact that you can't go back can be infuriating when you make a genuine mistake and submitted something you never wished to submit. The visual style is really great and works well with the setting, so does the soundtrack, and the menus are well designed (which is good because the whole game relies on them). I don't see myself playing it again as it doesn't seem that there would be much of a replay value, even though the game wants to make you feel that there would, but for a less than 5 hours once story with nothing really thought provoking if you read 1984 and live in the time we live in right now, I still enjoyed it!
Great game that talks about important things. It's pretty short but your decisions really influence the gameplay and the ending, so I'm probably going to replay it multiple times to see how the story would've unraveled if I made different choices. The poly art isn't really my taste but the writing is great. Honestly I'd recommend this game to everyone to play at least once since it's pretty unique and makes you think, also I think the topics are getting more and more relevant.
idk, I liked it
