I really dig the aesthetic and setting of this game, but it has some serious shortcomings potential players should consider before shelling out the full price. It is not a particularly engaging police simulation game, as It lacks depth and freedom to police as you see fit. Unless you are in for the mediocre story, I'd skip it. In the current state, I don't recommend the game. I think it is a bit overpriced for what it delivers. The mediocre story combined with annoying glitches and controller problems really overshadow what could be a fun sandbox to play around in. Here's what it has going for it: - Cool visual style and theme. I love the way it looks. The colors and lighting convey a really cool atmosphere. The models and textures look fantastic. - Environment destruction is awesome, lots of walls to crash through, props to topple, mailboxes to slam through scattering mail bits all over the place. - Driving is pretty solid, car chases and helicopter sequences feel pretty good...
The Precinct
”Ahhh, another beautiful day in paradise” A good game, a little short but then that could be a good thing as it could outstay its welcome if it was needlessly bloated. Full of Cop drama tropes, for example. An officer close to retirement, Doughnut & Hotdog jokes, A hardboiled detective duo, a mysterious case, an officer named Kowalski. Its all here. Good little story and fun gameplay. Works fantastic on a pad and all the radial menus are smooth. I would say shooting is better on M&K but that's obvious. From standard beat cop tasks to full on gang wars. Graphics are nice and music is very suitable for the era being portrayed. I'll be very interested to see what Fallen Tree Games do next Trail-Dave ”Brass ones kid"

Fun little game, but becomes repetitive. Recommended if you catch it on a sale. PS: Stay away from car chases because the car control is atrocious.

I hope the developers will notice my message. For me, the game is kind of boring, and the character progression is pointless, a waste of time to get levels and "clues" for a boring story with a lot of confusing conversations. I understand if the game was smooth and the story was more interesting, like being a cadet and earning a rank. But that's not what I got. One day you're an intern, and the next day you're working with detectives and running around like a dog on the streets, looking for clues for the detectives to listen to a short conversation and a typical shootout, and then it's all over again, patrol, clues, arrest, and so on. There's no variety in the plot, and there's only one person to work with, which makes it uninteresting. The plot follows a single storyline, with pointless character progression like in a 2-dollar mobile game. I understand that the game is new, the developers are not rich, and so on, but I would like to see more creativity in terms of variety. In fact, it...

I hate to leave a "No" on this game because it is attempting to do a lot. I wish the game would pick a lane. On one hand you have this semi-serious cop system which requires you study and understand the crimes and when someone is to be fined or be arrested, and on the other hand it feels like a chaotic kill everyone shoot'em up. The two don't mix when I try to fine someone but then they run out into traffic and get killed by a car and all of a sudden I'm in a 30 minute shoot out/ car chase trying to capture 40 people for vehicular manslaughter because traffic is piling up while people get run over one after another. It's just nuts.

I dislike the system where you have to assign crimes to someone, I literally watched someone commit a hit and run and it said it was wrong and subtracted XP from my character. I also dont like how the game respawns you if you use inappropriate force. I shot someone with a taser who was running from me and actively stealing a vehicle and it said "incorrect use of force" and respawned me somewhere else. Lame.

Story is a bit short (like 10-15 hours of game play tops) but the gameplay loop is engaging enough that I've played dozens of hours past that.

If there ever was a video game blatantly programmed and designed for a console, yet neglectfully sold on PC, it would be The Precinct; primary and optional missions are all too linear and forgettable, weapon handling is beyond atrocious, the story may as well be a substitute sleep aid, and every interaction is made to feel odious due to how slothful the paperwork is and how incompetent the police NPCs are in foot and vehicle pursuits. Whether it is due to the outmoded 1980s theme that the developers thought would be interesting, amateur design decisions, or near-imperceptible quality assurance, this product fails as a unique experience and adequate law enforcement simulator.

I'm already ready for awesome DLC's. K9 add-on. Add a rural section to the map for Sheriff department, a mountainous area for wildlife and search and rescue, add more car styles, more uniforms, possible character customization. This game has potential. DONT F*** IT UP!

It is "ok". Unfortunately the game is very repetetive. Every suspect, you will: check id, search (this takes a while), then compile charges and arrest. The developers seem to have noticed that, since they put all kinds of other things in the game like.. races, jumps, etc. But none of these really fit with the tone of the game which tries to be a more serious police game.
