About This Game

The Lords of The Earth Flame is a novel game created in the best traditions of interactive fiction and text-based role-playing. Non-linear structure, rich text core, and the “analog” feel of times past are certain to provide unforgettable gaming experience for hours on end.

This attempt to revisit the unduly forgotten genre is a curious challenge and possibly the first step toward a full-scale rebirth of non-linear text-based quests. In the developers' enthusiastic view, modern graphics technology and friendly interface may help interactive fiction spring to a new life and find a well-deserved niche of its own on the modern gaming market.

Plot

The game's events take place in a fantasy universe closely resembling the Late Middle Ages. Take up the role of a guide to a trade caravan that—by a twist of fate—finds itself in a mountain cave. Your efforts to get out lead you to mysterious ruins, entering which may result in losing more than just your life…

Game features:

- atmospheric parchment-scroll interface;
- intricate non-linear plot;
- mood-setting soundtrack;
- replay value;
- more than 5 different endings.

The Lords of the Earth Flame is a really short interactive story, with choices and some images here and there. It’s more focused on your choices than on the visuals. I honestly enjoyed this little story, but I strongly recommend getting this title on a sale; it’s too short and the price is a bit high for only a few minutes of entertainment. 6/10. I wish there was a save feature, that would have made the other playthroughs less annoying. Also, the Joker ending was the best, lol.

im not saying this novel game is bad or not worth the money, its just not very long or fleshed out. for example, i have finished it on my first try without dying once, in 5 minutes, the replay the game skipping the text for choices i have already don to beat it again in a different way in 3 mins. after replaying it many times and getting as many endings i can, my total time hasnt expanded past an hour. on top of that the bad ends just seem poorly done in a way that two routes will lead up to the same end or, also, a ending that doesnt change no matter what choices were made previosly. if im not making sense here just know this, i was dissapointed by the length and the meaningless choices that just seem to pad things out, very little on top of that. the good parts are aas followes: - a soundtrack, not the best for reading to but wasnt expecting this in a novel based game anyway - great artwork, this made for a more immersive experiance overall - an interesting world, just wish this was ...

For a $5 game this is interesting. I know that I havent unlocked every ending but there are a good number of ways for things to end. The story can end very early or can go on. I found myself getting more and more intrigued. Definitely play through several times, you'll need to to get the full picture. The world could use just a bit more fleshing out but I tihnk this is pretty good. I'm going to keep digging for more ending because I know there are other ways for this to end. Well worth the $5.

I've played a number of CYOA game books, and I like them when they are well-written, but this one is pretty bad. The writing is amateurish and reads like a student project rather than a polished, professional work. There is really only one true path through the story; all of the other routes lead quickly to disaster and death within a few pages. Even the true path can be completed in 15 minutes or less if you make the right choices. The only way I could possibly recommend this is if you want some really easy achievements, and even then you should not pay more than 50 cents for it. If you want to play a game book, any of the ones produced by Tin Man Games would be a far better choice.

When it comes to reviewing games like The Lords of the Earth Flame, I truly wish I could give a neutral opinion on Steam. I can't say "hell yeah, this was a good game !" ; neither can I say "hell no, this is trash". I wasn't trully satisfied and have mixed feelings about it, because there is approximately as much positive as negative. The Lords of the Earth Flame is a fantasy interactive text adventure game, so if you don't like reading, you can leave this page at once. You play as a caravan guide facing a violent snowstorm - up to you to lead your traveling companions to safety... or death. Not really an extraordinary story. That beeing said, you'll notice that there are many different paths to take ; some are surprisingly brief, others more elaborated, but won't necessarily be better for you or your traveling companions. That's the most positive aspect of this game : there are many different paths and endings, and your choices will have consequences. However, every time you finish t...

So the writing's not much cop, and neither is the story. Some endings are insanely abrupt, and the emotional investment in the "characters" is nil. The aural and visual presentation are, however, rather nifty...though the price is surely someone's idea of a sick joke. This is worth 50% of the current full price, at best. Strict sale material, in other words; and only if you're feeling generous and wish to support indie devs who might, somewhere down the track, show some potential. A pass, but not by much. Verdict: 5/10. Slightly erotic fiction, slightly NO YOU DEAD... I really don't like games that kill you with no reason... This ain't dark souls. The English is Shaky and the game is more, find the sequence rather than a truly winding story. It is savage tho!

This is a text adventure game consisting of making choices from those given to you, the reader, in the vein of Choose Your Own Adventure books (such as the Lone Wolf or Sorcery! series). However, this text adventure is badly (BADLY!) in need of an editor. By this, I do not mean there are simply a few missing periods and commas, or a couple mis-spelled words, I mean whomever wrote the text for this game is either a very poor writer, or is not familiar enough with English to write their ideas well. Thus far, every page has contained serious errors that hamper both readability and enjoyability. Basic words such as "and", "the", "from", or "in" are missing from sentences; words are switched in the order they should be written, such as verbs or adjectives appearing at the end of sentences; other words are clearly taken from a thesaurus and do not mean what the writer believes they do; dialogue is not formatted as to be recognizable apart from the text it is found with; and so on, making ea...

A mobile game ported to PC via Steam. Audio on, or audio off. Music on, or music off. Played through 4 times, each time took about 3 minutes. The game seems to demand you memorise the exact route to extend the story as long as possible, and punishes you for doing anything else with an abrupt end to the game. Not worth your time or money.

The Lords of the Earth Flame is a short (about 1 hour) game. The game itself is an interactive story. Too bad the game is too static. If you die you've to replay all the scenes. Overall I liked it and that's the most important fact. P.S. Get this game in a sale. Otherwise it will be too expensive for the time you'll play this game.
