Bought this years ago, but never reviewed it. Game's very interesting and the mix of played chapters with acted chapters it's pretty cool. One thing I hate is that the acted chapters are streamed so they don't work without internet and I assume that if they are ever taken offline, that part of the game will be lost. Game should give you the option to download them, also streaming is not the best and they might get stuck and you have to replay then from the beginning.

Not Remedy's finest effort, but I still applaud them for trying to make something different with Quantum Break, a story that tackles time manipulation in a suspenseful cinematic action game. I recommend this game to anyone who would want to bask in a narrative-driven game with strong Science fiction elements. The game does an outstanding job in making the player immersed with the story through in-game collectibles and most prominently, a mini live action series within the game. Gameplay wise, the game shows interesting mechanics through time manipulation powers, although could have been polished more. Quantum Break is at best a 16 hour game that emphasizes on story telling and choices. If you aren't ready to watch a 20-30 minute live action cut scene in between each chapters, then this game may not be for you. Otherwise, this game is a story-driven juggernaut that Remedy is usually known for.

I actually like the game but somewhere down the line it broke maybe because of driver issues but I don't know. The game has audio issues, huge fps drops in some spots and in general weird AI behavior. The first time I played through it I don't recall all of these issues, matter of fact I remember being shocked at how good the game was. Also there is an issue with the mouse input, it presents like the game is stuttering but it's not and it is just the mouse input. Locking the fps helps sometimes to mitigate this sort of issue but not here so if you really want to play the game it's best to grab a controller.

time is everything, an average superpower singleplayer game with a decent story (not particularly the best, nor the worse) Notes: - there were parts of the game that when you look in a certain direction, the FPS would tank like all hell - the video sections frequently buffer despite having strong internet, so be wary if you lose connection - very funky AI that does weird stuff I guess you should nab this game when it goes on sale. It was a fun but short time sink.

Quantum Break stars a cast of B through D list actors, about a break in time caused by a corporation called Monarch. It's your standard 3rd person shooter with super powers tacked on to gun play. The main issue I have with it is there are live action cut scenes called episodes that take up about twenty minutes each, with a total of three or four, showing the results of your choices. It's boring and you're sort of stuck to your game until it's done. Also, your handgun has unlimited ammo which is immersion breaking and a poor choice from the developers. We're supposed to care about the characters but the sub-par acting during the episodes makes that difficult. I finished after ten hours of casual gameplay.

Lore and worldbuilding are interesting enough to keep you playing until the final fight, at which time you find out you can't lower the difficulty. That final fight was bad enough that I don't even care how the story ends anymore.

I enjoyed this, and maybe it will feel more necessary as I play the rest of the Remedy multi-verse. However, on its own this game is very mid, if unique in a lot of great ways. I don't think I would go so far as to say you shouldn't play it, but if I am forced into a binary, I lean toward no. The game is unique, with a TV-game interface. This coupled with the time-breaking power makes fora great set up. However, it is more gimmick than anything. The writing, while not bad, is far from peak television, and the game mechanics are severely lacking. The conflict based mechanics are pretty solid, with a nice mix of practical and speculative approach of taking down enemies. Outside of that, we spend a lot of time forced to walk slowly and click 'x' on a bunch of random nonsense that is supposed to constitute actual game-play. There is no joy there. It is a tedious time sink that adds nothing. What's worse, even the good parts get undermined by the lack of check points that result in a rep...
