eh it was fun, when there was a active playerbase. pve being locked behind pvp now that its dead makes it harder to play. And their official server on discord? full of dickheads that'll make fun of ya and pretend it was the easiest thing to find when there no like public links or anything. in fact if you get this game anywhere but their website, you wont even know theres a official run discord server. RIP absolver.

About This Game
Digital Deluxe Edition

The Absolver: Deluxe Edition includes the official soundtrack from Austin Wintory and The Art of Absolver 52-page digital artbook.
Absolver: Downfall Expansion

Absolver: Downfall is a new, free expansion for the online melee brawler that brings a new game mode, new combat style, new school challenges, and a fistful of new gear for Prospects and Absolvers.
Downfall Mode: Absolvers will face their toughest challenge yet as they battle through the new Adalian Mines as a solo warrior or in online cooperative play. Each run through the procedurally sequenced mines and temples offers a unique path through a variety of challenges against upgraded enemy combatants and three intense boss fights.
Faejin Combat Style: The nw Faejin Combat Style blends defense and offense with percussive strikes and fluid power. The new approach is a complex style for experienced Absolvers, featuring shifting defensive abilities and two dozen attacks for bare hands, wargloves, and armed combat.
School Challenges: Absolvers who have reached the Disciple rank in a school can participate in School challenges, by using their school’s decks and powers in 1v1 Combat Trials. All wins representing one’s school count in the School challenges, with individual and collective performances of the schools bringing fresh rewards every three weeks, at the end of the season.
About the Game
In the ruins of the fallen Adal Empire, you awaken with a mysterious mask on your face, and faint recollections of an esoteric ceremony. Freeing you from hunger, thirst, and even death, the mask is the creation of the Guides, the rulers of these lands, who have placed you here to determine whether you are worthy of becoming part of the elite corps of Absolvers. As you wander these forsaken lands, encountering other Prospects like you, you will learn new combat styles, acquire weapons, gear and armor, and build a team of warriors with whom to fight side by side in Arenas of combat. Please visit the official Absolver FAQ on the Steam discussion board for more information:
Fluid Real-Time Combat: Position yourself in one of four tactical stances during real-time battles and execute devastating attacks, dodges, and parries. Movement becomes your weapon as you engage in solo duels or intense multiplayer melee battles.
Customizable Style and Flow: Players will define their character’s playstyle by picking a combat style, a weapon of choice, and arranging attacks in their Combat Deck to design their unique and personal attack flow.
Online Multiplayer Action and Narrative: Prospects and Absolvers will seamlessly encounter others in the world, generating unique stories that emerge through player interaction and choices. These moments are filled with tension as intentions to battle or befriend are never clear: trust is always a leap of faith. Encounters will have lasting consequences and transform into meaningful relationships as you make friends or enemies and find mentors or disciples.
PvP and PvE: Explore a rich and dynamic world including dedicated PvP battle arenas where champions will receive spoils of victory and progress in the ranks of the Absolvers, and PvE areas in which players cooperatively battle to retrieve rare loot and equipment from the ruins of Adal.
ABSOLVER CONTENT UPDATES

In the coming weeks and months, Prospects can expect regular updates to the game to fix any issues that appear, as well as both minor and major content updates. These updates already include 3v3 Game Mode and a Spectator Mode soon after launch, but many more updates can be expected, from new combat styles and moves to new powers and equipment. im an older player who returned to the game (played it on PS4 a few years ago) i honestly love this games who vibe building your own fighting style and seeing how it all flows together, the fashion armour system and just gives me all my favourite things all wrapped in one game i dont remember it being super active back in the day but i have met at least one other player so far if it did have more people enjoying the game that would be amazing but even if thats not the case then i enjoy it for what it is.
It's pretty dang fun and feels incredibly cool creating your own style of martial arts, it just sucks that there's such a small community
best combat game ive ever played
10/10 game if you like fighting games. 4/5 story (the lore is interesting but the story is fairly short). 11/10 Originality, so much freedom (although grapples would be a nice bonus, so is a knife weapon with knife tactics for the next game).
Ireally like this game so i'm kind of biast. And i tend to look past the negative. Its a fighting game, and the main focus is PvP. But... i'm a Linux user, so i don't have access to PvP battle. I play this game anyways, every now and then. If you like "SoulsLike" games. maybe the PvE is interesting for you. Its shorter than many other games. But i think its nice. It has lvling, grinding, character customization, and even deck building. What i don't like is that i can not play online because i'm on linux... that makes me sad.
No map, no fast travel, no map boundaries. Decent idea, horrible execution
just the most immersive and aesthetically pleasing fighting game ever
Short, but nice game, get it on sale.
