Everything that SRPG could possibly be

TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children is the first season of a turn-based strategy SRPG that takes place in the world of Troubleshooter.

Valhalla, the unstable nation

Valhalla is a free trading nation erected by three world powers for their own benefits after the world war. In an attempt to control the nation, the three world powers banned the army from Valhalla. Due to these circumstances, public order in Valhalla is always unstable and thus after ten years the Valhalla government made a bold decision.

The birth of Troubleshooter

The Valhalla government granted civilians the right to investigate and arrest criminals in order to lower the rising crime rate. People call them Troubleshooter.

The beginning of your and everyone else's stories

10 years have passed since the introduction of the troubleshooter system. Albus, a 20-year-old young man, becomes an official troubleshooter. Albus first starts his company on his own but soon takes in many colleagues as he solves more cases. All these new members of the company have their own motivations and stories. You will be experiencing a variety of missions in Valhalla through their stories.

Specialized classes. Over 1000 masteries. More than 500 additional masteries

All characters in Troubleshooter have their own unique classes. Each character can rank up to the upper class, and the role of your character changes according to the class.

All characters in Troubleshooter can acquire various masteries according to their levels and classes. Furthermore, you can activate additional effects by combinations of masteries. Utilizing this, you can make a character for your unique strategy.

Such masteries can be acquired by leveling your character up. However, in most cases, you can acquire masteries from enemies. In other words, you can take your enemies' unique traits and apply them to your characters.

More than 100 unique missions

There are more than 100 unique missions in Troubleshooter. All missions are designed independently, and all of them have their own unique circumstances.

More than 500 unique cut scenes

Troubleshooter uses more than 500 cut scenes to portray the story.

The creativity SRPG can have

As new characters join your company, playable content will be unlocked according to their roles. For example, if you recruit a hunter character, you will be able to tame beasts. You will be able to craft drones if you recruit engineers.

For some reason I have been suggesting this game as an "ultimate x-com experience" on reddit too often, while I haven't done it here. So I need to fix this. And yes - it still is. * You can replay levels and use different difficulty options if you want more challenge. * A variety of characters with unique skills. * A bigger variety of customization for those unique skills with builds for each character. * An even bigger number of options with more trait-specific customizations for builds. * Weapon customization and creation from material? Yep. * Animal farming and capturing? Yes. * Robots? Add on top. * And as in every korean MMO, you have farm options for materials and so on. But this might be a minus for some. * Some story, but it wasn't really engaging. It's ok. Even after 60 hours of gameplay the game keeps adding more features, as if it wasn't enough for you before.

It's an Anime RPG x X-Com. Fun gameplay and progression, likeable many characters, interesting worldbuilding, all of the mentioned interwoven into an intricate storyline. It's also a theory builders' heaven. It's not without flaws, but given how enjoyable the game is, they can be ignored. Would recommend to tactical RPG enjoyers.

If you like strategy games and enjoyed X-com, you should really enjoy this game. It has a number of systems to learn and once you get a hang of those, you'll really see yourself progressing through the game smoothly. This is a must have game for Tactical/Strategy game fans

Though you can certainly feel the constraints of the dev scope, be it in the initially jarring UI or in the middling animations. That clumsiness also carries through into a rather endearing and heartfelt narrative, it's tropey in all the right ways and really comes to life through the wonderful work of the illustration team. Which is not to undermine what is a very solid and satisfyingly nuanced game mechanically. Even if it rather boldly reaffirms the tedious marathon-style missions which the genre sometimes suffers from, especially when said missions often give you enough generic reinforcement as to feel like an RTS speckled with hero units. Which well, can be as awkward or intriguing as it sounds depending on what kind of tactics fan you might be. It's a lovely game which admirably strives to keep itself fresh through its content hefty length, and will reward you for bearing through its quirks to truly acquaint yourself with this notable entry into the genre.

This is one of the best and deepest SRPGs I have ever played. The teambuilding and customization is incredibly deep, and of my 400 hours of playtime, I think half of it was spent just customizing my team's masteries and optimizing gear. For people who want both good gameplay and complex customization, this is the perfect SRPG.

Yes for spreadsheet lovers. For me, the unneeded layers of complexity doesn't add fun to core gameplay: tactical combat or RPG immersion. I need less spreadsheet and more vocalized immersion. Tactical battles are ok-ish, except the dodge and resistance mechanics where some normal mobs are almost immune to certain attacks, making them absurdly hard to kill, harder than bosses even.

Good game for £20. I think it needs a lot of improvement to be worth getting full price. Some of the mechanics are grindy and far too difficult to justify using. For example, you obtain perks by getting masteries, which are random drops from enemies, and I found myself spending most of the downtime looking through guides to find the right combinations; the game doesn't tell you which synergy to choose to get the optimal loadout, and the training books and valkryie coins are basically useless. The only use of training books is for you to switch perks on your loadout, but you'll end up with thousands of them for some reason, but I only ended up using less than 100 at the most during my playthrough. The valkyrie coins give you the option to either buy back unique equipment or add more mastery boards for you to switch playstyles; I ended up never being in a position to justify spending time using either currency. I thought the story was pretty boring. About halfway through I end...

I have now finished the main campaign at ~102 hours (DLC next!), but have so thoroughly enjoyed my time that I definitely feel the game merits two big thumbs up. I primarily come from the Firaxis XCOM series, and picked this up to have something new while X3 won't come out (and without Jake Solomon and team, if it does... might not be what I want). But Troubleshooter IS what I wanted to see from a worthy, newer TBS game in so many ways: + Interleaved turns with speed mechanics and time boost/delay (oh, and enemies ACTIVELY aggro the map in a relatively intuitive manner!) + New enemy variety and challenges with more mechanical variety + Another amazing soundtrack + The mastery system (Highly customize-able, deep-but-approachable per-character builds!) + Massive scale battles (my record so far is 128 enemies) with huge allied parties (up to 8 of your own characters + some friendly NPCs on certain missions) that wage across huge terrains + Deep bonds between units with mechanical passive...

One of the best tactical rpgs ever made, only negative when i played a few years ago was the always online, so i couldn't use cheat engine to turn on speed hack and make the animations go even faster, i'm so used to doing that everytime i play a turn based game to save time, helps a lot on games that require grinding, like this one when i was trying to get a dragon for the sniper (Giselle). I'll buy the sequel as soon as it's available immediately.
