This is the most logical hidden object game I've played, for example, you wouldn't find a lemon inside a purse! The story starts off by telling us a story happened centuries ago when a demon showed up and Druids who has the power of Avalon struggled against him and many died in that battle. The Archdruid had no option other than using a dark spell to lock the demon in a cavern. A prophecy appeared, telling them when the demon will show up again. The game starts off with the main character, an archaeologist who received letters from a man asking her to check the standing stones of the Druids. Unknown to our young lady that the prophecy will be fulfilled this night and in seven hours! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1364413743 I enjoyed the story and artwork, the hidden objects scenes are well drawn as well as the puzzles. However, I did experience two game crashes and it is probably from my end after I solved two very difficult mini-games and had to replay them...

It's been a while since a casual adventure game really impressed me and I'm really happy to see that a new developer managed to do that. Graven combines a very good presentation with solid item based puzzles, an interesting story and well designed hidden object scenes. The animation is pretty good even if it sometimes doesn't work perfectly. All the art in the game is just stunning though and every screen looks as good as the screenshots. The music is very good too and there are quite a few different songs so that you don't get bored by it. The story isn't ground-breaking, but it uses an interesting setting and never slides into absurdity. The voice actors also do their part to make the game quite immersive. While a lot of other casual adventures mainly have item based puzzles to unlock the next minigame or hidden object scene, Graven manages to really bring back some of the better item based puzzles from the 90s. This being said towards the end of the game it can be a bit tedious to...
As Hidden Object Games (HOGs) go, "GRAVEN The Purple Moon Prophecy" is pretty darn good. The graphics are very clear and well done, the voice acting is MUCH better than the norm, the puzzles are good, and the story is fine. Basically, I had no issues with it. I got 5.9 hours of good game play out of it (with 100% Achievements), so I'd say it's definitely worth buying at anything under $6 (I got it for $0.99 during the Steam Winter Sale). If you like HOGs, I recommend it.
Game Information "Graven: The Purple Moon Prophecy" is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game. The game was developed by Orchid Games and published by IQ Publishing. The Game Review Game Visuals I want to mention the visuals in the game nicely. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's menu option. Game Audio I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well. Gameplay There are three different difficulty game modes to choose from: Casual; Advanced and Expert. The notebook keeps tracks of progression in the game. Such as story events and clues. There is an interactive map in the game. It allows the player to fast travel between each location quickly without having the need to constantly backtrack. It also indicates that there are a variety of tasks that can be completed at various locations within the game. The interactive ma...
Graven: The Purple Moon Prophecy is a hidden object game I very much enjoyed. There is a minimum of issues and the story is interesting (For a HoG at least 😊). The game is pretty long. I did end up using a guide for much of it but it still took me over 5 hrs. The artwork is really good. Music is good. Animation is so-so, but if you’re used to HoG’s it’s passable. The voice acting was pretty decent. Overall, a pretty top-notch HoG. The only real negative thing I can think of is at one point you’re looking for a “Church Key.” You also have an obvious lock around a chain to unlock. Turns out the “church key” is really a can opener. It even looks like a can opener, although it is labeled as Church key. It also does not open the lock, but it is the key to moving forward. I won’t give the rest away. I don’t know if this was a translation issue, or if they really think church keys look like can openers…. But it stumped me long enough it was frustrating. I’d defin...
One of the best HO games I've played in a long time. The story was coherent and interesting, it actually made me want to play. Graphics were really good, voice acting was above average, but it could be better in some places. HO scenes were clear and interesting, especially those with multiple zoom-in areas. What I really liked was that some areas would turn into HO scene after certain actions from the player. I liked minigames and puzzles, they were unique and innovative which was really refreshing. I didn't like how mosaique pieces were handled, it could be another type of collectibles. Lost opportunity for something really nice. It's hard to believe this game isn't more popular. It's clear that the developer put a lot of work into this game. With Artifex Mundi games slowly getting stale and declining in quality, it's good to see Orchid Games picking up the torch. Can't wait for their next game.
This is sort of a C-. Possiblities, but missing too much. Feels a bit as is the developers liked the idea, but never played the popular ones to get an idea of what players expect. Pros: Screens are nice Voice acting is good Story is good Music is suitable Meh: The Hidden Objects screens are OK in and of themselves, but no more than that. Not too many puzzles Cons (and some of these are very big): Map is totally useless. It only tells you where you are. Nothing on the map that lets you know about where you need to go Nothing on the map that tells you about a necessary HOP in a different location from where you are NO quick travel Often you have to move through 5+ screens to get to the one you need next. Frustrating & boring Glad I got this on sale and didn't waste more.
It's a cute little game with some pixel hunting (puzzle pieces and mistletoe branches). H o w e v e r, in my opinion, it could well and surely do away with that abominable 3D. It lacks polish and the cutscenes suffer as a result. The story would only benefit if it was told via 2D images, I can see no reason for including 3D animation here at all, it doesn't add anything to the game story or artistry wise. Same goes for voice acting. It's bad, no point including it in here. As far as gameplay goes the inventory (or instructions) panel is too large, or at least it should have been on the either of the sides of the screen to avoid accidental clicking and exiting an area. These are things I can live with though, the game is still fun to play and test your attentiveness.
I loved this story and the ending. Didn't get stuck too much either. I don't have any mayor complaints neither. 9/10 will play again.
this must be one of the best and challenging HOGs i have ever played. pros. very good story good graphics good voice acting so many places to search very good puzzles good music decent amount of gameplay time (around 3 hours 22 mins) cons. lack of infos. i highly recommend this game i give it 9/10 due its great story and very enjoyable gameplay.
