Came for the talking automaton, stayed for the emotional damage.
I played Syberia with my kids when it was published in 2002. 23 years later, I'm back to playing it alone, which brings out all the pleasant memories of this fascinating world, intriguing storyline, wonderful voiceovers and fun in seeking solutions to all the condundrums Kate Walker falls into. Not many games will be remembered but this is certainly one of them, along with Myst.
if you like mood and mystery, syberia will keep you glued for nights
I beat Syberia franchise like 5 years ago every game but 3 that one is pretty bad really fun classic game believe me must try.
This is my very favorite game, both I & II. I've played them twice now. The story line is moving and so sensitive. The graphics with all the gizmos and robots were amazing. Totally entertaining and mesmerizing. True, I had to rely on the guides at times, but nonetheless, he game was so fun, interesting and challenging. I can't imagine anyone not appreciating all the time and skill put into making this game...I want more like it!!! Many thanks to all those involved in the making of this truly fantastic game.
Syberia is one of the more original Point and Click adventurer games, from the days of old. You follow Kate Walker, a lawyer from New York, as she's sent to the small town of Valadilène to facilitate the sale of an automaton toy factory, following the owner’s death. Not the most riveting story elements one could have chosen though. Though I never got to experience it back then, the game is widely recognised as one of the classics, and so assuredly it is one everyone, whose a fan of point and click games, should experience. The game has similarities with The Longest Journey in that regard. Both in regards to their status in the Point and Click genre, but also for some of the similarities in their structure. Both games starts as a contemporary setting, but quickly changes to involve the weird and fantastical, which in the case for Syberia involves Steampunk automatons. The story is slowly paced and steadily unravels the world of Syberia and eccentricity of the the Voralberg family. ...
