So I have played the beginning of the game. Frankly, This is a great game. I can see the developers puts a lot of effort into this game. Story is looking good so far, you can feel they are actually try to tell you something, not just make up a pointless story to scary you. The game mechanism is like the old Resident Evil and Silent Hill, so this is what a survival horror game should look like. Beside this, the music are great, the sound effect really make you feel scary, so the atmosphere is also good. Of course, they put jump scary in this game. And they told you before the game started. Anyway, they still got me, i really jump. If you are a fan of survival horror game, get this one, you won't disappointed. But if you don't like jump scary type horror game, maybe you should think this through before you buy this game. But what can i say, every horror game has jump scary, is part of it, right ?

A very well done (and long) game with a story that keeps you wanting to play. Lots of puzzles with some action sequences (so be aware). There are some translation issues that may detract from your enjoyment of the game; especially when you're trying to figure out the clues to the many puzzles. Still; a lot of work went into this game and there are multiple endings depending on how you play. I can also see a lot of inspiration from Silent Hill. Thumbs up!
Great RM title that suffers from some grammar issues but has a solid core and decent story. Includes a free soundtrack, too!
Aside from some minor translation errors (improper use of words and spelling mistakes) that are common with most RPG Maker games, this is actually a solid, well-built title. The amount of scripts used in the game (IYKYK) seems daunting, as the more you add to an RM game the more it tends to mess things up, but things gel and work cohesively very well. I've encountered only mild slow-down issues (the game suddenly drops to 5-10FPS) with the Dev having stated they are working on fixing it. A crude workaround is to hit Alt+Enter to make it switch between windowed and fullscreen or vice-versa As for the story, it's actually intriguing. The aforementioned typos are a little off-putting, but it is well crafted and has kept my attention so far. The puzzles are standard, with only one giving me serious pause until I figured out the trick. Then, it was ...

The first chapter was fine, but the rest of the game has been unplayable. It keeps slowing down to nothing. I can't even click on locations in town because the cursor is so far lagging behind me. I'm on a brand new system at that! Do NOT get. Wait until they fix whatever has bugged the crap out of chapter two onward.

Empty Soul is an indie title created in the RPGMaker engine. I tried really hard to like this game, and I do think with a some quality of life changes I could change my review to neutral. I can tell effort was put into making this game with the game specific launcher that is rarely seen for a project in the RPGMaker engine. My issues did not come from performance, or the game not running, but from design choices. The story of Empty Soul has us follow a young woman by the name of Solan. The story is divided up into four chapters; ephemeral, memories, promise, and transition. In ephemeral Solan explores what appears to be a dilapidated hospital in need of repair. This is just one setting of what I will call the "nightmare world". In the nightmare world Solan is given a stamina bar that replenishes itself over time, a health bar, and a mental status. Through exploration or vending machines players can get healing items that will replenish stamina, health, and/or status. The status change...

Great game! I'm always on the lookout for indie horror / psychological titles and I hit the jackpot with this one. Good story & mechanics are clearly explained. If you would happen to need further help, there is also a complete walkthrough. ( just click discussions ) XD

Great story, suprisingly imaginative use of RPG maker, and just the right amount of creepiness to make the puzzles enjoyable whilst keeping the atmosphere intense, but not over the top. I'm really emjoying it! BTY - I got a framerate slowdown issue - This is resolvable by pressing the Alt and Enter keys together.

Clunky and tedious. There might be a good story hidden somewhere (from what I've seen I expect it to be quite generic tbh
evil cooperation doing even eviler research
, but of course I could be wrong since I did not finish it). But gameplay-wise it's just too annoying. So, what made me give up:

he rooms are cluttered with doodads. Most of them are unimportant, someones are not. Sometimes there's a visual clue if they ar of importance, sometimes not. And sometimes they just get in your way. Don't know how often I was blocked by pepples or something alike.
The dialogs. Some are unskippable, and many are constantly slowed by emoticons popping up before a person says something. Like: A questionmark appears over the heroine. You must until it disappears. Then she asks the question. An "..." mark appears. You must wait until it disappears. Then you can get the answer. Rince, repeat.
The dialogs and monologues repeat whenever you re-initiate them, which takes ...
