A lawyer in NYC, Kate Walker was sent to Europe on a simple mission that gradually transformed into personal quest, an adventure that led her on a voyage aboard a locomotive bound for the reaches of the Europe. SYBERIA JUMPS THE SHARK Despite some good voice acting, and an enormous 3-D environment, this may well be the worst adventure game I've ever played. There are few good puzzles. Struggling with the interface takes their place. Just having Kate walk across a room can be a chore in some spots. She dances, she pirouettes, she goes the wrong way, you name it. Often times, you can know exactly what to do, but be unable to get the controls to actually do it. I almost got permanently stuck at a puzzle whose goal was simple to operate a few controles to start an ice breaker. Despite knowing exactly what to do, the controls simply wouldn't do it. There are many other interface glithces, such as the cursor often disappearing for a minute or so at a time. The gorgeous pre-rendered environments of the first two games, are replaced by a 3-D environment, that, apart from a few good spots, mostly ranges from plain to downright ugly. In some ways this matches the tone of the game, whic...

It has been 15 years for the franchise and where are we at now! Well, just like the plot, we have gone backwards! A long time ago, back when the two other games came out, it was a point and click adventure. As times have changed and people have pushed for more interaction and controller capabilities, it was only a matter of time before that happened. I honestly will not make any negative comment on the transition as I like the fact that you can play both ways. Focusing on the story, the first game was finding Hanz and the second was the traveling. This game focuses on a tribes migration. Things are loosely tied together from previous games and could have been its own game (Probably should have been). Without getting into details, you are helping the tribe get across the country while being hunted by just about everyone: lawyers, government, militia, and doctors. Might as well as added a kitchen sink. In true point and click style, you walk around solving problems blocking you and th...

WARNING - my recommendation is really only for those who enjoy games that do some things well, like world building, but also find a joy in how horribly things went wrong elsewhere, like the dialog or the mechanics or the fact that you absolutely need a controller to make things work. I love this game. Kate Walker is a recovering terrible person, in that she's not likable but she's trying her best as an adventure game protagonist to help people. The puzzles are a nightmare, often requiring less lateral thinking and more just pure random guessing and chaos until something works or wandering around maps with janky camera angles until you find that pixel perfect spot that reveals the very obvious answer. It's super funny to talk to any of the characters, none of whom sound like what they look like and are often modulated to absurdity. If you like a Rifftrax/MST3K vibe but in an adventure game, boy howdy this is it. Some actual good points - the world building is incredible. I wouldn'...

I really love the story and a big changes from 1 and 2 game play, but better using PC to play as the interaction a bit bug as sometimes the cursor disappear.
