About This Game

Deathwave is a arcade shooter where you fight hordes of fantastical enemies using both futuristic guns and magic.

The game offers an “Old School” FPS Arcade gameplay which was inspired by Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem and Serious Sam.

At the game’s core is its gunplay and movement, the enemies are smart, they are many and unless you use your weapons cleverly you are probably going to be defeated quite fast.

Spells and Guns

You have a vast arsenal of science fiction weapons, including laser guns, pistols and shotguns.Which you combine with a big list of spells you can also use to fight your enemies. You can freeze them with an ice spell then destroy them while they are unable to move, or just blast them with a fireball.

Flexible Gameplay and Replayability

You select which spells you want to use, and you get several weapons to use as you like. This variety of playstyles will be balanced so you can choose the way you want to play. The game will take record of your performance each game and give you a scoreboard. Try to win as many rounds as possible while defeating high level bosses.

Variety Of Enemies

There is a lot of different enemies to defeat, the game will launch with 4 classes of enemies ( skeletons, knights, mages and cyborgs) . Each one of those classes will have several types, for example, skeletons can use swords, guns, and different kinds of armors, while there are many types of spellcasters depending on the element of their magic.

Challenging Bossfights

Every several rounds, a boss round will happen. The game will launch with 3 bosses, the Necromancer, the Lord Knight, and the Archmague. Each one of those is completely different and has advanced AI to fight you.

Ok im still dont have a ton of time played with this game yet, but i can Say its Super fun/fast paced and skill based arena shooter. Its also really cheap. I can deff see this game going far if you like games such as Devil Daggers or Quake or other games such as that. Im no pro at these games either but i can deff see myself putting some time into this game and improving my arena skills because of it ! Also the Dev is super responsive (even respoinding 4 minutes after i put my first concerns and thoughts!) which makes me comfortable that this game will also get the support it needs ! Cant wait for more! =)

As this game was just recently released, I'll try to keep my opinion optimistic, as this is an Early Access game and in its current state, is fairly barebones. Yes, I would recommend this game. I picked it up on sale because it looked interesting, and for the price of $4, why the hell not? I believe that your money will go towards what appears to be a dedicated developer (released patches for bugs soon after launch, and stated to already be working on co-op, expected to be testable in a week or two). I'll start with the good first: -fairly solid mechanics -simple, enjoyable shoot-em-up playstyle, inspiration from games such as Doom/Quake/Serious Sam -beautiful graphics with the Unreal engine -bullet physics! you must actually lead your shots! (except with the sniper, which fires a career-ending beam of death) -shotgun surprisingly satisfying, was nice to watch that purple bolt spread find its home in a ribcage as the skeleton crumpled to the ground -decent and varied selection of ene...

Currently im going to say no to this game as yes i realise its early access, but you put the game publicised way to early, their are still many importaint features to fix like how you used just the base Ue4 buttons for the options menu, plus just having an endless survival gets very boring very quickly especially if you have no friends to play with, so i suggest you add some multiplayer/ co -op features and alot more modes and have the wave surviaval as a seperate more or atleast alot of things to work towards like unlocks because right now you just jump in and have access to all the spells and or weapons. This game should not be on steam yet. It needs alot of work done to it.
