Summary/Plot

Wander No More is a Kinetic Novel (a visual novel without any choices) which centers around the life of Kouichirou Nabatame, a renowned samurai, and Chiyo, a young village girl. Wander No More tells the story of how these two met, became a family, and attempted to restore their lives to what they once were.

When Kouichirou Nabatame finally worked up the courage to desert his kingdom, he thought his days of bloodshed were behind him. He believed that if he ran far enough, and for long enough, he could leave it all behind. A normal life would finally be his, and he would be able to spend his days peacefully, helping others and protecting their happiness, rather than destroying them without mercy.

But as Kouichirou knew deep inside his heart, peace would not be his so easily.

After weeks on the run, Kouichirou passed through Hotsu Village, and the moment he did, he spelled its demise. The Kodokushi, an elite band of samurai he used to lead, slaughtered the village's residents, then set it ablaze and continued their search.

Powerless to stop them, Kouichirou emerged after his former subordinates moved on, desperate to put out the flames and find himself food and shelter. He moved from house to house, searching for anything edible, until he at last stumbled upon a storeroom, in which he found... a girl.

Orphaned, maimed, and robbed of her village, the girl would undoubtedly die a slow, painful death. Kouichirou knew this, and thus asked the girl a simple question.

"Do you want to live?"

But as he prepared to put the girl out of her misery, a fire lit in her eyes. Before she could vocalize her response, the girl, Chiyo, had already conveyed her answer.

"Then as the one responsible for all of this, it is my duty to make sure that happens. My name is Kouichirou Nabatame, and from this day onward, Chiyo, you are my daughter."

A story about a devoted samurai taking in a traumatized and injured young girl to care for based in a small village somewhere in Japan. ART: 8.5 The background scenes were stunning and the detail in the character design was very impressive. MUSIC: 7.5 The soundtrack was fairly limited in a sense that there wasn't too much variety. This could be due to the visual novel being fairly short which is respectable. Even though it was limited, each piece of the soundtrack was well suited for each scene thus, keeping me engaged. STORY: 6 The story felt unique but also familiar to other plot lines we have all seen before, without saying too much and spoiling the story I will say that it was predictable in where it was heading. Although the story was short, it was well written but it needed a change of direction or an option of a choice maybe. AUDIO DUB: 6.5 I was fairly impressed with the voice acting of Kyouichirou and Chiyo which was well fitted to their characters. The other characters we...

Wander No More is a short visual novel I enjoyed. I especially liked the way the art of Wander No More contrasts sharp characters that pop over soft and deep backgrounds that really set the tone of the VN. I would recommend this to any VN fans.

Very nice game, although the voice acting was kinda awkward, I really enjoyed the art style and short storyline. The characters were lovable overall and I would love to see a second. That cliffhanger or ending wasn't enough for me x3 so I will give this game a good job.

I liked the story, the background music, the Sound Effects, and the artwork. And the voices were good overall, I felt they matched the characters that they were portraying very well. I will complain that the voice volume would fluctuate wildly. It was never too soft, but the sound volume would significantly increase, then decrease back to the normal levels. There were times were the voice actor's words would be squished for a second, which rarely occurred. The one thing I wished they had done was include a sprite for the side characters. They had a full-figure for the main characters on-screen and would include their sprites next to the text box while speaking - which I think is unnecessary in my opinion. Overall, it is worthwhile to read through at least once!

+ Beautiful artwork + Good length + Intriguing story + Script was well-written, though a few oxford commas would have helped in some places - that's just personal preference What would have made this VN perfect is if there were more choices! Just to add more of an interactive element to the game. I also felt that the MC monologued a bit too much, but I understand that the writer needed to convey enough information in a short amount of time. Spoiler:
I found the whole father-daughter thing a little weird and created the wrong kind of tension between Chiyo and Kou. It would have been just as fine without Kou labeling Chiyo, and that way there'd be a bit more romantic tension between them. Perhaps the writer wanted that sort of weirdness.
Overall, great VN. I look forward to part 2 if there is one!

Fair quality, for a free one-man-team game. Kinetic, takes ~2hrs with a somewhat slow reading speed. Story -- some elements surprising to me, otherwise predictable Characters -- I felt like this was ruined a bit by the deuteragonist being tsundere, with only an offhand justification. Maybe some inconsistence for plot convenience too? Visual & sound -- Fair enough. I liked hair shading, which many anime-style pieces omit. More even distribution of CGs would be more interesting maybe? 68/100, eh

What does this game have to offer you? Do you like reading? Do you like the illusion of happiness? Do you like getting your hopes and dreams crushed? Do you like stories that end a little too fast, making you want to read more? Then get this freaking game. It is beautiful. Another question: Would you rather have someone else play it for you? Dang, looks like I've got that covered: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh0HNJWRkgI
