As it turns out you can in fact make a fun and interesting sports game if you make it high fantasy and also a high-stakes visual novel. 10/10

A Message to Fans of Bastion & Transistor
Pyre is our third game as a small independent studio, and was made possible by the success of our first two games, thanks to players like you right here on Steam. This time around, we were excited to make something different from Bastion or Transistor, with a focus on a story-rich presentation, multi-character battles, and many possible narrative outcomes. We hope you'll be surprised and delighted by the result, and that the many characters you’ll meet and stories you experience during your journey stay with you for a long time to come. Safe travels through the Downside, and thank you for your support!Screenshots

Pyre 2
AWESOME GAME AWESOME SOUNDTRACK this game is as good if not better than Hades and I loved Hades.
Review from 2018: New game from the team behind Bastion and Transistor, the writing from those games carries through but the gameplay leaves quite a bit to be desired as it is mostly a visual novel with some light "basketball" gameplay being the only player controlled instances, ran a little long but again the writing was great
IS THIS FANTASY RUGBY
Truly their worst game: self serving, long stretches were you can't play, confusing gameplay and overall everything a Supergiant Games shouldn't be. It's more than fine to avoid this one, no matter how big of a fan you might be of the developer.
Every supergiant game is worth playing. beautiful games.
neat game. fast-paced decision making, and highly mobile. sort of like rocket league the core gameloop loop is satisfying and has levels of complexity. character and build variety are also appreciated. there are a couple "twitch reaction"-type frustrations at the highest difficulty level, but many are counterable, and you can make up for others by playing well consistently visuals are also pretty, and story isn't bad
It's my favorite of the 3 pre-hades games from SuperGiant. The art direction is even more beautiful than Hades. The story is great. It will depend if you enjoy or not the gameplay of "The Rite". I do.
Unfortunately not for me. I love Supergiant, and this game has all the hallmarks of their style in terms of the music, the character design, the story writing, etc. But I constantly felt like I was being punished for having fun / finding a way to deal with the bits of the game I didn't enjoy. I would really have appreciated more of an explanation on how the Enlightenment bar was calculated. There'll be people this system will really appeal to and people it really won't. I'm in the latter camp
