About This Game

Steam Workshop

VIRTUAnimator has Steam Workshop support, so you can share your own content!

About the Software

VIRTUAnimator is a simple, easy-to-use animation tool, made for VR.

Load a scene, spawn some objects, then pose them - create keyframes, and watch it animate between each pose automatically. You can even render out your animation as an image sequence (and an MP4 file soon)!

If you're not too great at animation, you can still pose objects, characters, add particles and lights, and more, and render out cool stills or backgrounds!

With Steam Workshop support, you can even add your own content, whether that be weapons, props, characters, or even entire scenes!

With the addition of Live Recording, Pose Blending, and Collada DAE export, you can even use it as a quick-pose tool for your favorite 3D software!

As a longtime animator/3D modeler I find this Early Access software to be a lot of fun. A bit clunky but what isn't at first? The concept is straightforward... movement and key frames with curves. It doesn't get much simpler. This is a good start to a great concept. Really interested to watch it develop further. I had no problem in getting started with basic movement of a spacecraft model. Keep in mind it is Early Access... while this means fewer features it also means helping the dev shape the final release with your feedback.

I have been porting over alot of SFM models, and it has been working pretty well. A few times the armatures get a little weird, things like legs/arms bending the wrong way, and not sure how to make additional bones available to be articulated in 'game'. Looking forward to more features. Having animations play in room scale VR is awesome, and honestly a game changer, but still a lot of work to be done. I have even imported a few of my 3D printer objects and being able to walk around them is awesome. Need to find a way to add an in engine light source or two. Having a couple of 'flashlights' would help. Doing everything through the SDK would be a little cumbersome for most, not sure if it is OK to reupload other peoples stuff into the workshop with the new format, so I am keeping it all local right now, but it really only takes a about 15-20 minutes to convert once you get the hang of it. Hope the developer stays active!

The software is out of date and no long works with unity3d. Unity has change formats or converts them incorrectly leaving this priceless software to the waste side. Author no where to be found.

While the menus (as noted in-game) need some work, and more content needs to be added, this is a really fun program. I spent ten minutes learning the system, and animating a wrestling move and had a good time doing it! Can't wait to see where this goes, and will enjoying using it along the way!
