About This Game

Laureate of the Epic Game Jam of November 2015.

You are a replacement doctor, responsible for finding out which of the three patients is the one that is contaminated. To do this, you can use a range of experiments to perform on the patients. You can also ask the guard to do the dirty work for you. You must choose only one patient to kill or .. Maybe this job is too hard for you and you will take the last option .. to not choose ...

What is Who Must Die?
Who Must Die is a simulation offering an experience similar to an "escape room" in which you play a doctor. The goal is to make the player aware of his choices and the consequences this may have for a human life. Explore, search, make your choice and observe directly the result of your investigation.
We chose to put videos of the team in order to make the game even more fun and convincing.

Why did you create Who Must Die?
The first prototype of Who Must Die was made for the Epic Game Jam in November 2015. The game won the first prize of the jam and received many positive reviews (youtube, specialized press, Epic Games), The team decided to make it an improved version, longer and mostly replayable.

What is White Chamber?
We are 5 French students who are passionate about video games at the end of the course. This small motivated team and full of ambition is composed of 2 Game artists, 2 Game Programmers and 1 Sound designer.
The game is published by Plugin Digital which allows us to propose you today this game on Steam.

Thanks to hard work and an ongoing investment we can now offer you the game in full version.
We hope you will enjoy as much fun as we do this game.

I have no idea what the devs wanted to accomplish with this game. Playing through the whole game takes about 20 minutes. It consits of 5 rooms and about 12 lines of dialogue. The whole "story" is: There was an O U T B R E A K ... here are three people, 1 of them is infected. You have to choose who it is. You read through a file for each patient, stimulate them with music/gas to see how they react and then choose who to euthanize. That's it. That's the whole game. 20 minutes of boring gameplay accompanied by monotonous elevator music. I really can't recommend this to anyone.

Not worth it. The entire game can be played in 10 minutes. Most of the achievements do not work, and no word from the developers since release basically.
Video (gameplay + commentary):
https://youtu.be/956k63MG7JQ
Summary
Interesting premise and execution. We liked the full motion video and how it's triggered to help figure out who the infected patient is. The background score is appropriately sullen and adds to the weight of the difficult decision the game wants you to feel you have to make. Visually the game also creates some great atmosphere with a nice grain filter and dulled colors. Gameplay itself is somewhat minimal with the player mainly operating buttons and levers and seeing reactions. You can also just fast track everything by guessing which of the 3 patients is infected, and if you get it wrong, you can just speed back to that point in the game and try again. Granted, that's really only going to cheat yourself out of trying to figure it out (although we did this and, with the doctor running in and out of the bunker in like 2 minutes, felt like some kind of superhero). Overall, we enjoyed it!
Warning: Broken Game! This game has design/implementation defects that will render this unplayable for many gamers. The game crashes to desktop 100% of the time, after less than a minute of playing. The developers have no interest in remediating the defects in this broken game, it's abandoned.
I'm not really sure if Who Must Die is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. Who Must Die is a short first person horror adventure game where you must diagnose th...

Nope, sorry, i love FMV and "weird" games, but this is just bad. There isn´t much to do and you´re probably donw with it under 30 minutes if you take your time. The worst thing that could happen in a FMV Game is bad acting, and oh boy do i know some bad actors for you. After you´ve seen the Guard beating up a patient or the "execution" scene you know what bad acting looks like. It looks extremly fake because it is. He doesnt hit him at all. They don´t even contact each other. Every Trash-Tier Indy Horror Movie knows how to do cheap effects but this is just stupid.
