About the Game

Steel Seed — a gripping action-adventure game from the visionary team behind the critically acclaimed Close to the Sun, set in a dark sci-fi world where humanity stands on the brink of extinction. Join protagonist Zoe and her flying drone companion, KOBY, as they investigate the depths of a hostile underground facility in search of answers and the key to the survival of mankind.

DANGEROUS DARK SCI-FI WORLD AFTER BIG CATACLYSM

After a catastrophic event rendered Earth uninhabitable, machines took control of the remnants of humanity’s survival. The underground facility is a vast, machine-built structure designed for machines — not humans. Each region presents unique environmental storytelling, hazards, and secrets waiting to be uncovered. From towering industrial landscapes to eerie biodomes, the world of Steel Seed is as haunting as it is immersive. Explore a hand-crafted world filled with dynamic combat, formidable enemies, and an immersive narrative that challenges the very definition of humanity.

A COMPANION UNLIKE ANY OTHER

Zoe isn’t alone — her only ally is Koby, a prototype drone designed to assist her. Initially just a tool, Koby becomes a crucial partner, offering guidance and solving puzzles through environmental interactions. Though it communicates only through chirps and visual cues, Koby becomes Zoe’s emotional anchor in an otherwise desolate world. They create a formidable duo by working together and bringing something new to every fight.

STEALTH, PARKOUR, AND DYNAMIC COMBAT

Adapt your playstyle with a unique blend of stealth-action gameplay:

 • Stealth & Strategy – Utilize shadows, distractions, and the environment to evade or take down enemies.

 • Dynamic Combat – Face off against various enemy types and challenging bosses, each with unique abilities.

 • Upgradeable Abilities – Customize Zoe’s playstyle with three distinct skill trees featuring 40 different upgrades.

Highly interactive environments encourage creative problem-solving, making every encounter feel strategic and rewarding.

A THOUGHT-PROVOKING SCI-FI EXPERIENCE

Steel Seed isn’t just about survival — it’s about exploring the fine line between human and machine, trust and control, resilience and despair. Revised and edited by BAFTA-winning writer Martin Korda, it pairs an intriguing main character's evolution with a compelling and deep narrative experience.

Too many stupid jump section where with no reason double jump does not work to reach the next area after 50 times it suddenly works.

I hate this game so much. I'm so mad right now, I can't even explain why. I paid half price for this, and I still feel completely ripped off. And I love stealth/platforming games usually. But after 2 hours of playtime, I ran into my first of many many bugs. So right off the bat, I couldn't refund the thing. And it wasn't like a minor bug either. The damn double jump function works about 1/4 of the time you try to use it after the second zone. So I said F-it. I can't refund it. I guess I'll suffer through this crap. And I got to about the fourth area, after hours of frustration. I don't know why I tortured myself like this? I guess I just wanted to get my money's worth. And this area has an arena that basically halts all progress until you clear it, but it never seems to end, and every time I get to the third round of enemies (seriously F those damn stealth a-holes, I hate them so much), I just get completely wiped, with no resources left. At that point I decided to uninstall. Maybe ...

I've heard good things about this game, and in truth the potential is there. The environments are a spectacle to behold, the stealth that defines most enemy encounters generally works, and the writing for the plot seemed alright. Unfortunately this game suffers from a severe lack of polish. On the rare occasions combat is unavoidable the lack of polish in dodging mechanics and enemy movement makes combat a chore. There have been several occasions I got insta-killed because the game didn't let me regain control of my character quickly enough after leaping off of a pole or succeeding a quick-time event. Even more occasions where my character got stuck inside the environment with no way out. There's even sections of the game that demanded continuous jumping between wall-running surfaces but the same wall did not respond to my jumping on it four times in a row! There's a part of me that thinks this game has so much potential, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this if you're l...

Finding the right graphics settings is a game/challenge of itself, but once you found the best settings for your system and it runs at 60 fps without those weird post-processing artefacts (is that a UE5 thing?) , you can really appreciate the visuals of the levels (i had to configure the game externally with the NVIDIA app). For the 3 hours i played i had much fun, because i love stealth games and the slower pace that comes with them. But if you mess up you can still defend yourself through normal combat. The extra abilities make sense. I am motivated to play more! Well done so far. (i have to give one remark: i wished i could change the title song, it doesn't fit the great vibe of the rest of the game at all, urghs ^^)

This was a decent game, but I don't really recommend it unless you're already on the fence about it from trailers and gameplay that you've seen. I do recommend it, however, if you're down with janky indie titles that have heart and soul oozing from it. The Amazing:

World construction, the sights, the vistas, holy shit is this game breathtaking to look at
The Good:

The voice acting is decent for an indie title
The soundtrack, though a bit limited, is pretty good as well. The main menu music is a banger, ngl
The Mid:

The writing and storytelling definitely needs quite a bit of work; pacing was off, deliveries were weird, and just overall it had the bones of a good story, but no meat
The stealth gameplay was ok, nothing great, nothing terrible, but really should have been better for being a focus
The Bad:

The combat, holy shit the combat. Wow it was just....not great. I played on both controller and MNK, ...

I haven't had a chance yet to talk about how amazing this game is. I almost don't want to play it cause it makes 90% of my other games look bad. The detail, these Devs took in creating this is remarkable. I can't wait to see whats to come as I have only had a chance to play for a bit. I had low expectations, so I was really shocked. Mechanics, graphics, story, acting, gear. All amazing. I will buy anything these guys make after this.

Fabulous game. Enjoyed the stealth and combat mechanics. Good storyline. Was definitely wanting more after finishing the game. I hope they make a sequel or add some DLC

What a nice surprise An excellent action/adventure/stealth game reminiscent of the older Prince of Persia games. Amazing graphics, engaging story and it performs excellently, having played on high settings on a ROG Ally X handheld PC. Thoroughly enjoyed so far and look forward to playing more, and seeing what the Devs do next
