I was looking forward to a fast paced and fun little game, but the glacial speed ruins it completely. No bots to learn against, just the battle royal gauntlet where you don't get to pick your minions or anything. No quick games - up to 3 days between moves against a human... I want to finish a game in 10-15 minutes, not 3-4 weeks.

Get Competitive. Be Creative.
Hex Gambit is a short form, competitive strategy game that lets players surprise each other in plain sight. It's designed to be as fun to watch as it is to play. Characters jump across the board like checkers pieces, and their moves compliment each other for bold, game-changing plays. Your strongest abilities unlock automatically as your score increases, so each match is a race to unleash a game-winning gambit. Battles take around 15 minutes for experienced players.
Jump Over Anyone
Our checkers-inspired movement mechanic, called crowdsurfing, makes getting around the board a fun puzzle in and of itself. Bounce over the head of any neighboring unit to land on the opposite side, and that’s chainable if a bunch of characters are standing in a line. What would be a traffic jam in most TBS games is a wealth of options in Hex Gambit.Choose Your Squad
Before each match, you’ll select a squad of 5 minion classes and a captain, who provides a unique Ultimate to help you out of tough situations. There are 7 diverse minion classes to choose from: Soldier, Sniper, Brute, Runner, Pacifist, Defender, and Motivator. That's 21 different team combinations, times 6 captains.Easy to Learn, Difficult to Master
A quick setup phase skips right to the good stuff: arrange some starter minions however you like on your side of the map. Victory Points are awarded for minion kills, and for each time you can “tap” a crystal pillar on the hostile side of the map. First to 10VP wins.
Single-Player Survival Challenge
Players looking for some practice can take on a single player gauntlet called the Blitz Royale. It has three difficulties to choose from. Your minion army is persistent across six grueling battles, with reinforcements shuffled and doled out randomly before each match. Every minion you lose is gone for good!
League Play - A Community Turf War
The heart of Hex Gambit is our competitive league play, the Apex Cup. Each month, all of our players choose a faction and face off in a massive war for control of the Summit. Victory Points you earn in league matches, win or lose, help your team seize territory. Trophies are awarded to all members of the winning faction each season, and to the top performers on each team.Screenshots
User Reviews
i have nvidia gtx 1060 and it it keeping it in 99-100% usage from 1-9% before i start it...
Great game for strategic casual gamers. The mixture of chess like pieces, checkers movement, and unique abilities makes this game strategic and fun. And yet it is surprisingly well balanced for such diverse minion capabilities.
This game is a lot of fun! I will say that it takes some time getting used to the controls because it's in early access and there's no dedicated tutorial. However, the design of the game is super elegant! There are a lot of balancing acts you've got to play (offense/defense, all-in/steady, left /right side control). The only gripe I have is that the camera control currently feels kind of awkward to me. Maybe it'll get better after getting some used to, but it feels incredibly unnatural.
I was very excited about this game. Granted, I've known about their other turn based strategy game, Outwitters, for mobiles. I loved Outwitters, and I can't wait to dive into this game either. Right now you can only play with someone else, and there is no local play, yet. These features are planned. If you like strategy games, pick this game up. Pick up Outwitters as well, you won't regret it.
Buggy, no one plays it.
Fun, but bugs out after a few turns...and by bugs out I mean you cannot play as the game does not perform actions; you have to restart to fix the problem.
Fun strategy game. Great for fans of Outwitters. Developers are responsive to suggestions and bug fixes. Needs a larger player pool. Local multiplayer would be appreciated as write
Not the most active game at the moment but the gameplay is very good for turn based strategy. Good balance of units.
Great game so far. It has alot of room to grow and should be as great as outwitters on ios has become.
