Definitive edition should have been given out for free for owners.
I don't remember feeling this way when I was younger playing this, but it just feels like hard work. One on one skirmishes one after another on big maps where the best tactic is rush the enemy and kill their HQ before they can build up. Every mission... It's just... Meh. It's even worse when they are quite strong because then they have a lot of HQs and you just have to keep slogging away at each one in turn. Then do the same thing next match. It's disappointing to be honest, I shouldn't have replayed it, my memories are tarnished!
Game very good, story good. Buy good.
I honestly don't know how this game became so difficult. Playing the Imperial Guard Campaign was always going to be a slog. But when you have a decent army with a power of 6, manually attacking a Chaos Marine section with a battle rating of 2 and getting thumped immediately is asking too much from the army that suffers from morale more than any other. Utterly pointless update. The chaos army in question had 6 regimental units but only conquered 4 territories...so how the heck that's a thing is anyone's guess. Don't even bother buying it.
My favourite of the Dawn of War series. Has a decent faction list, good combat balancing, and the campaign is awesome. Especially the ability to fully fortify, and keep your improvements on each map. Did someone say Guard fortress?

A must play game for warhammer 40 K fans
Very fun. Unfortunately, in the campaign fighting the Imperial Guard seems glitched? I got the the final objection and it bugged out. Overall though, really fun experience. A cool change from the base game's main mode.
