About This Game

Have you ever seen a giant rabbit shoot lasers from its eyes or a 1-eyed lumberjack tossing "Bite Bears" from his bookbag? That's just a small taste of the odd and unusual sights you'll see in FrightShow Fighter.

This is a fighting game like no other. There are 10 characters to choose from. Each has their own unique abilities, theme music, and bizarre levels!

At its heart, Frightshow Fighter has the feel of the fighting game classics, but with a fever dream twist that leaves you excited for more!

FEATURES

  • Special PowerUps! Unlock PowerUps that can be used during battle for a temporary boost; like fireballs, poison flasks, slippery oil, or a giant rocket. You can only bring three into each battle, so choose wisely!

  • Story Mode will include multiple Maps to choose from, with each one offering a variety of different paths for tons of replayability. Each character has their own road to victory, with unique character endings.

  • More control! We've created a unique Pose System that allows your fighters to hold positions to enable more controlled moves when needed.

  • FUTURE UPDATE: Global Ranking! Play against others in online multiplayer and see your ranking go up or down with every battle.

STORY

The FrightShow was never meant to be anything but entertaining. Every Thursday night at an old local theater you could come see the wonderful and amazing; the bizarre and obscure. However, this all went awry one night when a cloaked warlock came to see the show. During the final act, the warlock, known as Xonolox, performed an evil spell that was meant to steal the eyes of the entire audience. But the spell was too powerful, he couldn't control it! It backfired, ripped through space and time, and created a multi-layered universe that left the performers of the FrightShow taking the side of good or evil.

Now trapped in the FrightVerse, where anything is possible, these FrightShow Fighters must do battle in hopes of finding a way out, and back to the normalcy they once knew. The fighters must do all they can to defeat whomever chooses to go into battle against them. Now YOU must prepare for FrightShow Fighter!

TL;DR Devs dont know how to make a fighting game. this game is very poor. I was ready to give this game a fair chance, but just seconds into playing it is very clear that this game is a godawful mess. The art and idea seems charming, but the devs seem to know nothing about what makes a fighting game. Not to say that there isnt a way to flip the script on a fighter and make it work, but this is not one of those instances. Examples being, air control. You can change movement in air. Hit boxes are a bonkers mess. With character models so small and condensed, things turn into quite the mashing mess. A BLOCK BUTTON IN A 2D FIGHTER. Honestly, to expect this game to have any sort of fighting game fundamentals is pretty silly so i dont know what i expected. Even from a casual fighting game player prespective this game is poor. The presentation is okay, but man oh man... I cant recommend this game to pretty much anyone.

This game is anime as fuck, 10/10. It's really hard to fuzzy guard Xonolox though, his mixups are unreal. I recommend Faceless if you want to seriously learn the intricacies of this game.

Takes a minute to get used to the controls, but they're solid. Not a whole lot of mechanics, but each character is unique. Left Bumber (LB) is that mysterious block/power button on a 360 controller.

My wife is a major Tim Burton fan, so I bought this mainly for her benefit--too bad it's awful. This game is good conceptually, but that's it. Even with the recent patch, the actual fighting is arguably the worst I've ever experienced in a fighting game... and I played Fighting Masters. :( The game encourages running into your opponent like an idiot and button mashing, so there is no feeling of accomplishment whatsoever upon victory. This game needs a serious overhaul to be worth even a couple modest dollars.

Listen, this game is jank. There's no denying that. Not every game is meant to be a perfect game with fantastic mechanics. Some games exist simply because somebody wanted it to exist, and let me tell you, i'm glad this game exists! Each character has their own little charm, with a fun little style that is reminiscent of Tim Burton mish-mashed with Psychonauts. The overall gameplay ideas are easy enough to work with, and the item system allows for players to build around their own styles! It's jank, but it's got spunk!

I love this game reminds me of Tim Burtons stuff I grew up with when I was a kid I Like the monster fighters very weird my favorite is the zombie been always a fan of zombies and anything with many teeth or eyes creepy in a very cute strange way very simple and fun. I was always a fan of Halloween as a holiday and haunting and strange stuff there's also hints of Eldritch weirdness in game I love the soundtrack as well I have it on my mp3.
