I played this with my brother while he was in town because he said that he wanted to play a game with upgrades. That it was, but when I got the achievement for beating the game after the end of world TWO, we both lost a couple seconds of our lives in astonishment. "What? That's it?!?" was our mutual reaction. We spent more time analyzing our upgrades (equipment, perks, etc.) than we did playing the actual game. It sucks, too, because we were both really enjoying the game, but once our characters became formidable, the game was over! :(

I think $16.99 is a little too much to ask for this game in its current state, but I would say that it's probably worth it if you've tried the demo, and want to support the development of the game as a whole. Currently there are only like 6 or 7 levels that you can play through until you reach a final boss. After beating the boss, you basically get a screen saying that you've reached the end of the content for the current Early Access release, and to try playing on a harder level. I really do like where this game is headed -- my kids and I had a blast playing through the content in about an hour or so.
TLDR: Duke Nukem, Doom, Crimsonland, had a top down mining RPG baby with perks upon inventory, upon defense, offense, and general usage items, your $fame of planetary conquests will net you your future performances, in the story-roguelite, Bosses are like the UUUGGE Dungeon Siege kind- fill the screen and annihilate you. There are like 4 types of shops to use in-game with the things you mine, each shops have available based on the level, and your Fame-currency unlocks post-death. The shops are: -utility :-stat :-offence :-defence : Version 1.0 Release: Rogue mode: Incredible, Local co-op incredible, feels like crimson land in doom levels, the bosses feel super large with powers the size of their health bars, and after your levels, you use your fame to unlock upgrades available at the three types of perk shops in-game. Your inventory can only hold like 10 upgrades max though, and then you start also paying for upgrades in a different currency after you have consumed certain tier of pu...
I heard a description of this game as Risk of Rain underground... which kinda fits, but there aren't random item drops. Lots of stuff to unlock, but I'm worried how long that will last. No real story... More content will come. Unless you are getting this on sale wait till the full release. I would like to see more: playable characters, stages, items.
Great little game, well made, lots going on, with some nice innovations. I dont like controllers and so too hard on my kb fingers, but otherwise a real beauty.
Is this game underrated or what? Unsung successor to Crimsonland and Sigma's Alien/Zombie shooter, probably the only roguelike that appeals to a sane person, and not the kind that would grind for 300 hours in Binding of Isaac or what-else. Despite being a pretty "bad" roguelite (not having a lot of content), it makes up for being a REALLY fun arena shooter with a spin, you have to dig through your own arena, which is already a good gameplay alternative to having an open field or backwardly running out of a tunnel, Serious Sam convention style. Sometimes you can run straight to the exit portal, sometimes the game asks you to perform a special task of shooting the red beacons, or pressing the panel first. There are even extra tasks in each room, and two special rooms in total of 2 worlds, that ask you to survive the horde, in which you can stay indefinitely, as waves progressively get harder and harder. You can get extra experience, based on how long you stay . On top of...
A nice attempt, but the gameplay isn't engaging enough and the controls are a bit clunky.
Quite good! Really fun topdown shooter... With 4 characters with 4 skills each, each skill with branching upgrades, you're likely talking bare minimum 16 runs before you're out of totally novel builds to do a 20-40+ minute full clear. It's not a bad amount of gameplay at all... and that's before you talk about some 40ish support items, a good sized list of achievements, and 10 or so challenge modes specific to each character. The core gameplay was more than fun enough to hold my interest through quite a lot so far, and I've still got energy to do more when I've time. Very worth your time. There's also a free demo, which is what left me waiting excitedly for it months back, so if you're not sure, I reccomend trying that (it's a solid example of the gameplay). I'll be honest that it could use the second level the devs have said is coming (there's also some sort of artifact system not yet fully implemented I'm interested to see), some vareity would just be nice in terms of scenery (and en...
Clunky and dull.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2399748777 Overlooked, challenging, top-down, twin-stick rogue-lite shooter gem, mixing Aliens "Bug hunt" style gameplay with a compelling path-digging and gems-gathering mechanic in fully destructible mines. Four classes with powerful weapons and abilities that are enhanced by deep and powerful Perks and Passives systems. Massive, but fair bosses. Good, gory fun. :) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2396132484 Line-of-sight system for enemies -- you won't see them unless your character has line of sight on them -- helps create suspense and surprises. But you can see the wider map and I don't feel the top-down view is as restricting as it often is in games with this view point (Hotline Miami et al). Fog-of-war in the environment adds a sense of discovery, while available passive abilities allow you to see everything on the over head map if you prefer. You can both dig your own paths and use your weapons to obl...
