About This Game

Workshop

Curious about what other people are making, looking for inspiration or maybe you just want a nice park for your guests? Share your roller coasters, parks and scenery in the Steam Workshop!

About the Game

Welcome to Parkitect, a modern take on a classic theme park tycoon where you build and manage the theme parks of your dreams. Construct your own coasters, design an efficiently operating park that fully immerses your guests in its theming and play through the campaign. Both the campaign and the sandbox mode can be played in single player mode or cooperatively by up to 8 players building together online!

Build and experiment

Create the perfect park for your guests! Deform the terrain, place water, build structures!
With a huge selection of decorative objects from various themes you can design your park however you want. And for more you can get custom scenery from the Steam Workshop or mod in your own!

Top off that park with your very own roller coaster! Design it yourself or choose from a number of exciting designs. Spinning, looping, launching, flying - with over 70 of the worlds most popular types of theme park rides you'll always be able to surprise your guests.

Great scale - Endless of possibilities

Parkitect maps are huge, yet every tile matters. Adventure park or fantasy land? Why not both? The only limit is your imagination. From the smallest details such as placing each flower pot, to designing massive roller coasters, you decide the depth of your journey.

Management matters

Building is only half of the challenge! You'll need to keep an eye on the finances and guest satisfaction to stay on top, and for the first time in a theme park game the "behind the scenes" parts of your park have a meaning too! Route resources to your various shops without annoying your guests and keep the staff areas out of the public eye for the perfect immersive experience.

Play and explore

Build your way through a challenging campaign! 26 scenarios with unique settings will put your theme park management and coaster designing skills to the test. And there's always more - download scenarios created by the community from Steam Workshop or design your own with the scenario editor. With the landscape generator you'll create your own unique setting in no time. And if you're more of a creative player there's the sandbox mode!

True revisit to the Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, the best of those series. Reimagined, with new mechanics and features, takes the best parts of the original, and improves only where it was possible. Graphics are beautiful, and the UI is simple but very effective. Building is easy and intuitive. Campaign missions are good, and there are free build modes on every map if you only want to relax. If you liked the Roller Coaster Tycoon serious you will absolutely love this. 10/10

If I were to talk about all of the things in this game I love, this review would balloon to something akin to a thesis paper. I love the attention to detail, and they've found that perfect balance of park micromanagement and approachable gameplay, just like Roller Coaster Tycoon 1+2. This game can be as simple or complicated as you'd like, allowing for any type of play style to be capable of completing the campaign. The devs clearly care about their game, and have been implementing small fixes and feature improvements monthly. If you're looking for a modern theme park management game and don't want to be disappointed by the Planet Coaster series, pick this up immediately.

If, when RCT moved to 3d, you missed the liliputian, toy-like aesthetic, this is the update and upgrade you wanted. I hope the studio picks another languishing IP to refresh just as well as they did with this one.

Parkitect is basically the RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 we actually deserved as kids — though I still can’t tell if it’s 2D, 3D, or some weird hybrid, but it looks damn good. The base game comes packed with tons of rides and scenery, plus the workshop lets you slap in anything from giant roller coasters shaped like wine bottles (because why the hell not?) to whatever bizarre crap you can dream up. The management side is surprisingly addictive and ruthless—you can lay off employees on the spot like Trump firing people on TV, expose your guests to harmless “gamma rays” to read their thoughts (pretty useful for knowing who’s about to complain), and basically run your park like a tiny amusement empire dictator. Fun times.

Takes the idea of classic Roller Coaster Tycoon and takes it up a notch. Can't stop building parks and coasters - it's one of the best isometric coaster games out there. And the multiplayer is so much fun!
