Played this quite a bit on Switch, was happy to see it get such a steep discount on here. Honestly, this game is a great Puzzle Fighter clone with enough unique features and mechanics to make it stand out. It doubles the roster of Puzzle Fighter, adds tons of new modes and also changes up the gameplay with super moves and the ability to wrap gems from one side of the playing field to the other. Sure, there are balance issues that come from there being 40 super moves that the game this is inspired by not having, but let's not act like the original Puzzle Fighter was a beacon of competitive game balance either. PF only had two viable characters at a high level, and I imagine there's a lot more here. A balance patch would have been nice, but as the game is currently a Discord fighter, characters that don't directly damage or impair the opponent are essentially useless. You can't change their terrible choice in controls. The tutorial is painfully slow. It feels clunky. I'm so bummed.
