VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action

Nothing really comes close to the coziness and warmth that this game exudes on a cold and rainy night. So come grab a drink at VA-11 Hall-A, it won't disappoint. I still think about that bar and its interesting hosts and visitors years after playing.

Extremely surprised how this game released almost 10 years ago and how everything in it is applicable to our modern realities, from hewspaper headings to dialogues and characters. Game that made me question my life for a moment.

If there's any two things I love about this game that people do not mention enough of, is that in an era when many games fail to do so, Valhalla values your time and life schedule, while still being a excellent experience nonetheless. It also rewards you for being well read, including little details and references that you would miss otherwise. Huge praise. All of it is well deserved.

if i could i would gabber dance to the soundtrack ‘base of the titans’ (the breakdown part, mmyheah). but honestly, that’s just one small piece of why va-11 hall-a stuck with me. the game isn’t about flashy action or saving the world :p it’s about mixing drinks, talking to people, and feeling strangely at home in a tiny cyberpunk bar. which is so fun! i mostly played it at night with my beer, and it almost felt like i was keeping the bar company as much as it was keeping me company. the pixel art and music create this atmosphere that’s both cozy and neon, quiet but alive. the characters feel real in their own messy, lonely, funny ways. i think that’s what i loved most! even in a futuristic city full of noise, the game slows everything down and reminds you that small conversations and little connections matter :^3

Lots of reading! However, making your choices through the drinks you serve is a very neat mechanic. I enjoyed the game a lot and would recomend it to anyone ^^. At the time of writing i finished my first playthrough so its roughly a 10-11 hour experience.

rly glad i finally decided to try this game, some bits hit me wayyy too close to home but i honestly needed it. overall, a 10/10 visual novel w/ fantastic story, world-building, and characters. BUT, if you do plan on going for 100% completion one of the achievements involves completing a super annoying (optional) b*llet h*ll game oh my godd i hate it i hate it i hate it... SO WARNING. i <3 this game, b*llet h*ll aside.

Fascinating characters, beautiful dialogue (at times thoughtful, at times funny, but never boring). Hours have disappeared from my life, and I do not wish for this game to end. Such a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!

great vn, learned about it on vrchat, and just love the art style, the story and the cocktail system, I play a lot on my deck and it works flawlessly tho I had to use Proton to get saves shared with my Win PC
