Build colonies, mine resources, amass fleets to crush the opposition. Super fun. Older game, but still fun, especially against a human opponent.
fun
I played this game when it originally was released in the late 90s, and recently picked it back up. Although the graphics are dated and certain features are a little clunky, it is still a fun strategy game to play.
Although I never tried the PVP mode, I’ve always enjoyed the game. Many players might not be fond of its mechanics, gameplay, or dated design, but Rebellion still has its charm. It feels massive in scale — the AI can often be beaten easily, yet the outcome of battles still remains uncertain. Maybe I should finally give the PVP mode a try. And of course, the music shift when you’re winning as the Empire is one of the game’s truly iconic moments.
Just a classic, fun game. Way ahead of its time and still holds up today.
Played this when it originally came out, still one of the best RTS there is!
It’s a classic. I sunk countless hours into this as a child. It’s worth it if you take the time to learn the nuances.
