Some people may remember this was a flash game way back in the day. If you at all remember that game, this is an updated version which as of review will get more updates in the future. This is a very fun shootemup/twin stick shooter, The game has a very nice sound track with great sound effects that match the games simple pixel feel. The game play is a bit like robotron, use WASD to move and arrowkeys to shoot. The game has lots of different types of enemies, bosses, asteroid fields. All a lot of fun. The cool thing about this game though is the actual Gamma Bros, the two main pilots you play as throughout the game. You can switch between them every now and then when one of them flies across the screen, which gives the game a sort of tactical feel making sure you use a different ship when one Gamma Bro gets low on health. Each ship has their own health, but powerups and new weapons are transfered over between the bros. If one of the Bros ship blows up, they will fly in a jetpack, you...

I've played this game since my childhood, revisiting it every year or so to play it again, so seeing it in early access is wonderful. The controls are simple to use and the music and visuals are very nostalgic. If you've played the original game, probably one of the best and most notable things that they've done to update it so far is allowing for 8-directional shooting (up from the original 4-directional).
This game is one of the best 8-bit shooter games out there for Steam. I actually found this game when I was 9 or 10, when it was still a flash game on many small websites. I was amazed by it's shooter addiction and gameplay it had towards me, and immediately loved this game from the start. I was actually surprised when I found it on Steam, but not surprised because it's such a fun game. The graphics and music are really good and match the game up well. The plot's very simple, but intriguing with the Bros trying to get back to Earth. There's also a password system where you can go back to a previous point or get ships, which comes in handy when you have to leave your game or get a game over. Only thing I recommend is to make the game longer because it takes about a hour to beat without game overs in one run, but still has lots of replay value when it comes to playing different difficulties. A total recommendation to gamers looking for a good shooter to try, and especially because Pixelj...
EDIT: (Making the review more helpful) I found this game a long time ago, back in 2009-2010, this was one of the best flash games I could find, and it still holds up today! Now that the creators are updating the game by adding: New Bosses, Weopons, and even playable characters, most of all, if the $20K goal is reached, then even multiplay would be added! If you like shoot-em-ups, arcade, or space avdenture games, this is a great one to pick up! It's a fair price, especially once they start updating the game, even though the progress is somewhat slow. My previous 10/10 was mostly bias due to the memories and good times I have so far had, but if it looks fun to you, picking it up is worth it!
Great little shooter game fun while it lasts and quite fair. However the length of the game compounded by its rigid level structure leave it with relatively minimal replayability. I think the best comparison i can make is 5 gum, its amazing for a short period before becoming very bland quite suddenly. Dont get me wrong, this is one of my favorite games from my childhood but its just not big enough. 7.5/10
Charming and challenging, with a catchy soundtrack
If Pixeljam made Gamma Bros. 2 I'd buy the ever-loving shit out of that game. Gamma Bros. is the best twin-stick space shooter to ever be invented and I love every second of playing it. I just wish it were longer.
cool and good c: reminds me of 2007 me playing this game on Miniclip, on an old ass Compaq75 d: good for killing some time
I have known about this game for years and now it's finally on steam. I've always loved it, its music, pixel art, and somewhat retro vibe. It's decently challenging for newcomers and gets tougher. I've been playing pixeljam games since 2008 or so, love them.
From when I first found this game on multiple flash gaming sites when I was younger, I fell in love with the atmosphere immediately. So great that years later I had to invest in this experience out of many other Pixeljam games. Even though the game hadn't made any significant changes at all since the first release, it was still a general fun time.
