Made sprites for my sibling's birthday card (i made a short video game w/ Bevy), was simple enough that a dunce like me could navigate it.

If an idiot like me can pull off sprite sheets with your software, you've done an absolutely outstanding job. Very intuitive, and an incredibly flexible tool for the job, because Aseprite understands its own place in a project very much; with zero prior experience I'm suddenly collaborating with producers and developers in a seamless workflow. Aseprite keeps its focus and knocks it out the park.

I'm currently using this tool for designing a Rivals steam workshop character. It's really good so far.

I HATE THIS FUCKING PROGRAM JESUS CHRIST STOP I WANT TO COPY/PASTE A SPRITE NOT AN ENTIRE GODDAMN LAYER STOP I WANT TO MOVE A SINGLE SPRITE ON A SINGLE FRAME NOT EVERY FRAME OF ANIMATION ON THAT ENTIRE LAYER FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU THIS ISN'T HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS FOR FUCK'S SAKE I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Unfortunately, it's the best we've got for pure pixel art. But I'm going to be doing as little in it as possible from here on out. Straight up making every single frame in a different program and then copy-pasting them to this. I used to use Krita for that purpose, but that program is legitimately almost as stupid as this one, and I was hoping for better, but I got aseprite instead. Oh well. WHY DO YOU HAVE HOTKEYS FOR SO MUCH USELESS SHIT BUT NOT A FUCKING HOTKEY FOR MERGING LAYERS I AM GOING TO BITE YOU. I AM GOING TO BITE YOU AND ATTACK YOU AND ATTACK YOU I just tried to rotate the sprite I was looking at. So I circle it with the m...

I dont hate Aseprite, but its absolutely overrated, its mostly a toy, maybe useful for making 8-64px graphics at most and thats stretching it, Aseprite is very much a "pixel purist" tool which eschews the use of gradients or a lot of computer effects, pixel purists as a whole seem to worship retro NES/SNES graphics and aseprite seems to be very directioned towards that, you will be badly equiped if you try to make low poly ps1 graphics since even those already used vector shapes combined with some pixel art so take heed. P.S. a lot of my hours are empty.

It's a charm to work in this software for pixel art. Super easy workflow, right click background color, left click foreground color, there's every major tool you need, you can do similar stuff like you'd do in other software like Corel Photo Pain or Photoshop like color select, etc. Animations are super easy to do, onion skin works great... This is my first choice when it comes to pixel art. Completely recommend it!
