About This Game

Magicka is a satirical action-adventure game set in a rich fantasy world based on Norse mythology. The player assumes the role of a wizard from a sacred order tasked with stopping an evil sorcerer who has thrown the world into turmoil, his foul creations besieging the forces of good.
Players will be able to combine the elements to cast spells, wreaking havoc and devastation on the minions of darkness. They will also be able to team up with friends and fight their way through the campaign, or test their skills in the magickal arts through other challenging modes.
In Magicka, up to four players take on a grand adventure to save their world from certain doom using a fully dynamic spell system. The adventure mode takes the players across three different levels, ranging from the lush forests of mountain valleys to the frozen halls of the Mountain King where wits and creative thinking are the keys to victory.
In the unlockable hardcore challenge mode, players fight off waves of enemies to earn their place on local and online leaderboards.

Main Features:

  • Innovative and dynamic spell casting system
  • Up to four-player co-op in all game modes, as well as a single-player option
  • Fight your way through 13 different campaign levels
  • Explore an expansive realm of adventure to defeat the evil wizard
  • Find and unlock challenges, items, and powerful Magicks
  • Experience the parody and satire of a clichéd fantasy world

Can't play the game as there is a stupid Paradox Interactive login pop-up in the middle of the screen that cannot be moved/hidden/completed. It covers most of the UI! Tried creating an account, which was difficult given that it covers all of the required input boxes and buttons. It's still there, but now says "Logged In". Shameful lack of QA. This game used to be fine before adding such forced online account BS.

I tried playing this game online with friends on two different days, and it kept crashing. Sometimes with me and sometimes with my teammates. Sometimes we didn't even manage to open a lobby. The fact that I spent two hours trying to get past the tutorial made me uninstall the game and relegate it to a dark corner of my library. I'll find it there again someday. But I won't laugh, I'll just shake my head and put it back.

Fun, but can't play for more than 10 minutes without it crashing... im not downloading community patches to fix this, the game should work from the dev. Remember it being fun 10 years ago or whenever it came out, shame it got busted along the way because I would love to replay it.

Unplayable sadly. The game is very fun, the mechanics unusual and the art style charming. But it literally crashed every 5 mins. Please fix this mess, I used to love this game. What happened :(

The game is fun. But it crashed for me all the time, I had to play the same things again and again. Also even though the game runs at +140 FPS it still feels really sloggish. I tried all graphic setting but nothing help.

I really want to try this game, but unfortunately it keeps crashing. The fixes I see on the forums involve downloading a modified .exe and set of .dll file which isn't safe. Unfortunately unless Paradox decides to fix it for Windows 11, it won't be possible to play.

Worthless, crashy, buggy garbage with the most obtuse control scheme ever conceived.

A fun time, though I never did get to play with any friends. From what I've heard though, not all friends make this a fun experience.
