[This review is written mostly about how the game functions in VR. PC is not taken into account] Windlands, despite being one of the smaller & older titles out for VR, definitely remains among my favorite of the platform. It's a game all about swinging across ancient ruins, maddening abysses of sand, and scaling grand heights, all using a movement system that feels as natural as walking does to us in real life. Obviously, Windlands is all about movement. To this end, you're provided 2 Grappling Hooks and a nifty wall jump. Swinging across threes and bushes feels a little awkward at first, but you quickly get used to the new mode of transport. Freely swinging across gaps feels surprisingly natural and is a great load of fun. As you climb higher and higher, the game gets increasingly more difficult, but always remains very approachable.
