Candle is one of those indie titles that immediately catches your eye with its unique art style and that’s no accident. Every scene looks like it was painted by hand, because it was. The watercolor backdrops and animated details give the game a living, storybook quality that sets it apart from almost anything else in the genre. At its core, Candle is a mix of platforming, puzzle-solving and classic adventure mechanics. You play as Teku, a young hero armed with a literal candle for a hand, using its flame to solve environmental challenges and outwit enemies. The concept is charming and the flame mechanic adds personality and tension to what could otherwise be standard platform-adventure fare. The puzzles are clever and varied, often requiring observation and experimentation rather than brute force. Great game with astonishing and beautiful art, interesting to solve and challenging puzzles. Controls may feel a bit odd at first, but get used to after couple of hours of play. The only downside for me was a bug with screen freezing in couple of locations (extra challenge to find a workaround). Anyway you can see that devs had put a lot of love and effort into the game. I definitely recommend to play it.
