Learn to read Japanese Hiragana and Katakana characters in a fun chiptune adventure! Not just for people who want to learn Japanese, this is a game anyone can enjoy.

Progress through 15 different worlds remembering patterns and tapping in time to an all-original catchy soundtrack! Learn how to recognize the shapes and sounds of each symbol in the Hiragana and Katakana syllabaries. Learn them all and be able to easily read and pronounce Japanese words!

Rebalanced difficulty - Now easier songs are nearer the start of the game. Some timings have been adjusted to make the game a little less challenging.
Preview HUD when playing - You can now see the next button layout before it appears on screen, giving you more time to react.
Added a new song, bringing the total to 16.

TLDR: overdelivers (includes Katakana), lots of fun, would gladly buy DLC if they did it for other writing systems. This is the first time I've liked a game enough click on the 'Would you recommend this game to others?' bar. It's a real shame the developer hasn't made an equivalent game for Kanji, Hanzi or any alphabets as the game is simple enough to be easily adaptable to that - even by having Kanji etc as DLC. They could also probably adapt it to anything people want to learn e.g. flags, capitals: the video on the store page doesn't do a good job of exemplifying this but some of the screenshots at https://steamcommunity.com/app/417310/screenshots/ do. Essentially you get shown a Hiragana kana, then click one of four buttons (WASD, arrow buttons) to choose it again a few seconds later. There's varying degrees of diffiiculty and varying ways of being tested, while sticking to the timed multiple choice format e.g. you hear the sound of the kana then choose the corresponding symbol, ...
