Game feels like it stays too long while being far too short, loved 1 and 2 and thought i'd try 3 now it's released on Steam since I never had a chance to own it on the older platforms. I can't recommend it, the combat feels bad, melee is the same button as ranged which leads to throwing rangs point blank and getting punished for it, the crabmersible is boring to drive compared to the buggy from 2. The vehicle levels are far more than they should be, most are "Find the things in the area you've explored 3 times already and destroy stuff"

On their return to the present TY and Shazza are separated and TY ends up SIX MONTHS in the future. And worse still, the QUINKAN invaded SOUTHERN RIVERS, destroyed BURRAMUDGEE and caused BUSH RESCUE to disband. Now it’s up to TY to get the band back together, get help from some unusual new allies, and turn back the QUINKAN invasion.

Being a huge fan of Ty and Ty 2, I really wanted to love this game. But I can't. Everything it does, Ty 2 did better. Playing this game, you can actually feel the budget run out halfway through. Throughout, you'll run 4 mission types - Ty missions - Bunyip missions - Gunyip missions - Racing missions Compared to previous entries, these are extremely short, super easy, linear, and repetitive - seriously repetitive, as you'll run a good amount of them more than once. Most of the Ty missions have you walk down a single path just throwing your rangs at enemies mindlessly. I'm almost positive you can get to the end of any of these missions with ease without letting go of the W key (or thumbstick) once, as it is that trivial. The bunyip missions have been reduced to just punching whatever is in front of you, again, with ease. In Ty 2, there were a handful of bunyip models that were assigned to you based on the mission type, allowing for unique scenarios and traversal. That level of desig...
As a huge fan of the first two games from my childhood I wanted to give this one a fair shot, but the game really doesn't click with me. My main issue with the game is that there are too many bunyip and racing missions. You barely walk around as just Ty and whacking enemies with your trusty rangs and when you do, the levels are painfully liniear and over in a whim. They put so much emphasis on the boomerang customization and in theory it's pretty fun but you don't ever get to use to them where it matters anyways. That is also because most enemies - The Quinkan - require you to melee anyways, so the customization of the rangs doesn't change anything except for the damage you do, the more stones you have installed in ur rang. On top of that there is just general quality issues with the game, such as whacky controls, bugs that just softlock you (in my 2nd run in Karlos' arena I was stuck with 9/10 enemies defeated even tho I defeated every enemy from that wave) and repetitive missions wi...
major nostalgia 10/10 would grind again
