The war of Vietnam is never an uninteresting setting, but the game does it's best to be the least enjoyable experience with the rabid respawn of VC. Sometimes the enemies don't hit anything and the other time they drop you the second they see you. They can also take an inhumane amount of shots before dropping. It doesn't help that you can't run and gun, because the crosshair needs you to stay still to hit anything. Maps are constricted corridors of enemies materializing out of the walls with a jungly coat of paint. There are many times when you have to assault a bunker with machineguns while the enemies spawn on your flanks. But thankfully the late game with the city was less annoying. The last negatives I have are the technical problems and the save system that works only with checkpoints. Play only if you know what you're getting into, but the game series called Vietcong mops the floor with this one.
