About This Game

Swapperoo - The friendly puzzle game intent on your defeat.

The rules are simple: tap an arrow to move it in the direction it faces. Make a row of 3 tiles of the same color and the tiles disappear.

If that sounds too easy, don’t worry – this game can be devious and you’ll find yourself in situations that require clever manipulation of the game board. There’s an assortment of objectives to keep you on your toes: tiles that chase you, tiles that must be matched within a few moves, tiles that must be protected, and lots more.

As well as 38 free-form stages which play out differently every time, we have created 75 challenges with unique solutions, so the game is crammed with content to keep you busy!

The INFINITY update adds 3 new modes: Endless, Gauntlet and Timed!

  • Stylish new game from the creators of the Quell puzzle trilogy
  • Catchy jazz soundtrack by Quist
  • Full keyboard/mouse/controller support

Crafted with care for PC play.

Cute graphics, relaxing atmosphere. Nice polish on the interface. The gameplay is simple, click on a shape to shift it a direction or remove it. Some of the shapes have a countdown timer, you have to keep removing those or else. However because you don't have perfect control over the direction, you have to plan. Sometimes it seems impossible, but more than once I realized some way to clear the skulls right on time. Those little moments feel satisfying. However just as often you feel screwed that you randomly didn't get the right shapes and have no chance of clearing them in time. You could play perfectly and still lose, that kind of sucks. There some hint at a story of a wierd glitchy AI trying to escape, it makes you want to keep playing. Overall it's exactly what you would expect, a shiney puzzle game. I bit the bullet for $7, and I'm not quite sure it's worth that much. If you love puzzle games then go for it, otherwise wait for a sale.

I've beaten it on Normal, but Hard stopped me dead with its first levels. This isn't a puzzle, this is a ritual sacrifice of your sanity on the battlefield of mind attrition. I recommend ditching the game's musical loop and go for something hard like Electric Wizard, maybe Witchcult Today. Hard, because this is how your ass will be handed to you. Switch and move, switch-around, pop and align, reverse switch, then protect, then disarm a bomb on its last turn, one out of many, and not then but now, now, everything is happening at the same time, oh wrong move, that's it you're OUT! This is Chechnya! Sorry, I think Swapperoo gave me a concussion. The bombs don't tick in real time, which is a relief, right? Wrong! You've given as much freedom of movement as you need to screw yourself over with your own hands... or turn the tables! Last turn saves and accidental strokes of genius are the biggest joys you're allowed to have. If only it could happen more often in this random's Saw trap. Gigan...

a less conventional matching game from the guys behind the fantastic quell series. move tiles mostly by clicking arrows that understandibly only move in one direction. breakable circles to make way, squares are just innocent bystanders, doing whatever the other shapes dictate, unless they're fixed. skulls have to be matched before their timer runs out, power-ups come in the form of cards, charged incredibly slowly with different shapes. then there are portals, drills, etc. normal and endless modes are available from the start. 25 levels, each with different goals, unlocked one at a time, but level skip becomes an option after a few failed attempts. and fail you will, there are a few stinkers in the second half ('s', 'u', 'w' and 'y' for me). gauntlet (the whole thing with one life) and timed gauntlet modes are also ready to go, hard mode with 13 fuck-off levels and 75 puzzle challenges only after some progressio...

The match 3 game here is ok, but the challenge puzzles are where this game really shines. A huge recommendation if you like any of the other games by Fallen Tree.

I got this game on sale for only a few bucks, and boy was it ever worth it! The music is really relaxing and the puzzles ramp up at a decent click while still being fun and engaging. Definitely worth every penny!

Swapperoo is a surprisingly good and addictive puzzle game. There is a number of blocks in few colors that have to be put in at least 3 in line of the same color. The blocks are in shapes correspond with a movement that a piece can do - arrow pointed left can me moved left, circle looks like a button, so after being pressed it disappears, arrow that looks like a drill can destroy a nearby piece etc. There is a number of modes and challenges. The game's difficulty increases with every level and hard levels are hard indeed. The appeareance of the game is very pleasant. Pastel colors, soft light. These also make game very relaxing. I highly recommend Swapperoo.

Some people are comparing this to Tetris but I don't agree. Swapperoo is a straight up match-3 game, with the twist being that you can only move tiles in the direction that the arrows are pointing. This adds some strategic interest, since you often have to swap a sequence of three or more tiles just to get one tile into the correct position for a match. Most of the game modes have move limits rather than time limits, which I like because it makes the game more like a puzzle that you can take your time to think through (there is an optional timed mode but I did not play it). Overall a decent little puzzle/match-3 game that kept me entertained for a few hours.
