The Lost Land...

A world where time has no meaning - and evil knows no bounds. Torn from a world long gone, the time traveling warrior Turok has found himself thrust into a savage land torn by conflict. An evil overlord known as 'The Campaigner' seeks to shred the fabric of time and rule the universe using an ancient artifact known as 'The Chronoscepter'. The Chronoscepter was shattered thousands of years ago in an effort to keep it from falling into evil hands. The Campaigner has constructed a massive focusing array which he plans to use to magnify and pervert the power of the Chronoscepter in order to shatter the barriers between the ages and rule the universe. Turok has vowed to find the eight pieces of the Chronoscepter spread throughout the Lost Land and put an end to The Campaigner's evil plot...

Classic shooter with all boy's dreams: shotguns, dinosaurs, half-naked men, lava. Plus a lot of jumping. Old FPS are half-shooters, half-Mario.

I played this when I was kid but I was never able to beat it because I never had the thing from the N64 to save. Farthest I got was to level 4 or 5. This game was very scary when I was younger and it took a lot of courage to try to get through it lol. I saw this game was on sale for $4 so I bought it so I can try to finally beat it. I was hooked. I beat it in less than a day. This game is just unbelievably good for the time it was in and on a system like the N64. There are only 4 bosses but they sure put a lot of thought into them. Very fun bosses and it's crazy how they are able to move the way they do. The levels are fun. The whole vibe of the game just puts this fear into you as you go on. This whole game brought my inner child out and I feel very fulfilled when I finished the game. Love this game
NO SEWERS
If like me, you've an itch for retro style 'boomer shooters' as the kids now call them, you might be tempted to consider trying Turok. You play as either a Native American?, or a Cultural Appropriation Fanboy, who can only shout 'I AM TUROK', as he slaughters native animals, tribes and ALIENS!? alike. Travelling through 8 levels, you must stab, shoot and diagonally sprint (if you know you know) your way to the finish, collecting parts of a vibrating rod, and keys to unlock the next level. It's a product of its time, in that UI is clunky (you zoom in and out the map, pro-tip there), it's very linear (when you know where to go) and there are secrets that there's no way you'd be able to find them without licking every wall (or a guide). You're looking at about 12 hrs of gameplay here, for the first timer who wants to take things slow and kill everything, or 5 hrs, for someone who wants to blitz it. Too much platforming, not enough save-scumming.

A fun shooter, but sadly disappointing. So I have always wanted to play the Turok games, as I never had an N64 growing up, and the only memory I have was seeing the 2008 reboot on store shelves but never getting to play that game either. The idea of a badass, native American warrior fighting aliens and dinosaur’s, I mean what’s not to like about that premise? And Nightdive of course has done excellent work as always in remastering an old classic shooter and bringing it back, so I thought I’d finally check the game out. So what did I think? Starting off with the visuals, like I said I never played the game before so I can’t comment too much, but some comparison videos online let you see some of the work they did to upscale the game. The environments still look decent for its time and got me nostalgic for that generation of consoles/gaming.This game also had a similar story to the first Silent Hill in that the devs used fog to allow them to have big open areas on the limited har...
