Vikings - Wolves of Midgard

Unfortunately rather awful game, but that seems to be a rule with Viking ARPG's I have never in my 10.000+ hours of ARPGs experienced not getting hit/click-detection right to this degree.. When you click something, the hits will connect 50% of the time.. mostly you just stand there doing nothing, other times you hit the air, but sometimes! a nearby object or enemy.. This, combined with most if not all levels have a challenge with having to destroy objects makes this double frustrating Which is quite sad, because in those rare moments when combat actually works, it feels nice despite being nothing special Or maybe it's just the shock of several hits in a row actually connecting that feels wild Sadly it is also made for co-op, so playing it solo is a horrid experience with enemies having shields that will block all normal attacks, so you have to use abilities, which to be fair can be spammed quite a lot with short cooldowns Or you have to run around the enemies and hit them in the back,...

Braindead and grindy, but somehow satisfying — this is a good fit to zone out to while listening to a podcast or simply putting your brain on idle. The visuals, especially the environments, are absolutely beautiful, and for me, this is what tipped the scale in favor of an otherwise mediocre game. The gameplay is passable: there’s little challenge involved, except for the very first boss, and the variety of loot and builds isn’t particularly impressive. Try the demo and see if you like it; the full game is basically rinse and repeat, with variety coming mostly from different environments and enemy models.
