Play your way in a world where mysticism and industry collide. Will you choose to play as Empress Emily Kaldwin or the royal protector, Corvo Attano? Will you make your way through the game unseen, make full use of its brutal combat system, or use a blend of both? How will you combine your character's unique set of powers, weapons and gadgets to eliminate your enemies? The story responds to your choices, leading to intriguing outcomes, as you play through each of the game's hand-crafted missions.
Story
Dishonored 2 is set 15 years after the Lord Regent has been vanquished and the dreaded Rat Plague has passed into history. An otherworldly usurper has seized Empress Emily Kaldwin’s throne, leaving the fate of the Isles hanging in the balance. As Emily or Corvo, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca, the once-dazzling coastal city that holds the keys to restoring Emily to power. Armed with the Mark of the Outsider and powerful new abilities, track down your enemies and take back what’s rightfully yours.Key Features
The Assassins
As fully voiced characters, Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano now bring their own perspectives and emotional responses to the world and story. Use each character’s set of powers, gadgets and uniquely-tuned weapons in creative ways as you explore the world – whether you fight your way through the city streets or sneak across the rooftops - and which enemies you decide to eliminate or spare.Supernatural Powers
Advanced bonecharm crafting and all-new upgrade trees allow you to customize your powers in vastly different ways. Become a living shadow to silently stalk your targets, link enemies so they share a common fate, or mesmerize your foes and dominate their minds. Choose from nearly infinite combinations of violence, nonlethal combat, powers and weapons to accomplish your objectives.Imaginative World
From the grimy, rat-infested streets of Dunwall to the lush, exotic coasts of a decaying Karnaca, immerse yourself in stylized locales created by Arkane’s premiere art and narrative teams. The world is a character in its own right, rich with story, architecture and eclectic characters. It is also punctuated by signature mission locations, such as the Dust District, ravaged by dust storms and warring factions, and a madman’s mansion made of shifting walls, deadly traps and clockwork soldiers. The Void Engine
Dishonored 2 is beautifully brought to life with the new Void Engine, a leap forward in rendering technology, built from id Tech and highly-customized by Arkane Studios. Designed to support world-class art direction and take full advantage of the powerful hardware this generation has to offer, the Void Engine allows for significant advances to all game systems, including responsive stealth and combat Artificial Intelligence, lighting and graphical rendering, impressively dense urban environments, and story presentation.

User Reviews
Mostly yes, but it's not in the same league as the first. The story is good, the graphics beautiful. The main thing I dislike is that it wants you to go low chaos but then most runes are only useful for killing. There were a handful of runes that were good for stealth, none of them particularly useful. The game also seems to punish you with endless reloading as you try to find stealth paths. I guess that's the nature of stealth but this is quite sadistic, Overall good but very frustrating
TLDR:
A competent and enjoyable follow-up, Dishonored 2 trods familiar ground without seeming stale, though some annoying inconsistencies remain.
GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW:
D2 returns the player to the city of Dunwall, fifteen years after the events of the first game. Emily Kaldwin has assumed the throne and is guided by the loving hand of her father and royal protector, Corvo Attano. A sudden coup results in one of the pair being forced to flee, vowing to free their family member and restore Emily to the throne. The game opens with a series of cutscenes before the player chooses which character they want to play. The other character is petrified into a living statue by Delilah Copperspoon, a returning antagonist from the DLCs of the first game. The choice is not entirely cosmetic; while Emily and Corvo move and melee the same, their power sets differ quite a bit. Both have many useful powers, so for either protagonist, full stealth, full combat, or some mix between th...
Despite having enjoyed Dishonored 1, Prey, Deus Ex, etc, I just can't seem to get into Dishonored 2. I can't quite figure out why. Maybe it's the low visibility due to the tight corridors, maybe it's the ease that enemies can detect the player, but as a stealth enjoyer things got annoying pretty fast.
After playing Dishonored 1, I wasn't exactly blown away, but I could tell that the implementation of stealth was something else, and even if that wasn't exactly my type of thing, the sequel def deserved an honest try. And finally in Dishonored 2, it clicked. The stealth playground in all the levels, the tidbits of lore adding to the narrative and world building, the cool powers and all sorts of hidden content, it had me hooked. Loved the gameplay obviously, story was pretty straightforward, and characters were well made. I loved that being merciful/not merciful actually affects the ending and also makes you consider the decision of how to eliminate your enemies. Also, while I don't think this factors into how good the game is, the UI design and menu navigation animations and artstyle are so so good. For me it def gets bonus points for that. Overall solid 9/10.
Dishonored 2, Arkane's sequel to the original, masterfully blends stealth and action, offering a rich, multifaceted experience where no two playthroughs are alike. Set 15 years after the first game, players can choose between Emily Kaldwin or her father, Corvo Attano, each with unique abilities that cater to both stealthy and violent playstyles. Emily Kaldwin, in particular, is a strong female character who has developed from a young girl into a competent and skilled individual. She is not just a powerful fighter, but also a complex character with a sense of responsibility and leadership. The game spans 12 to 16 hours, depending on your approach. The split abilities enhance gameplay, allowing for creative combinations. Emily’s Domino links enemies, while Corvo’s Bend Time can freeze foes, leading to inventive strategies. The game excels in providing tools for stealth, such as hiding bodies and executing silent takedowns, while also offering a chaotic playground for those who pre...
Best stealth game in the market. Nothing comes close to Dishonored when its stealth related. The enemy AI could use some improvements though. Even in the hardest mode, I beat the game quite easily.
Dishonored 2 is one of the best games I have ever played in my life. I played first on high chaos and violence, then I got the urge to replay Dishonored 1 and finally replayed D2 ''New Game Plus" as a stealthy Emily using stealth and planning and creativity in the use of special powers. If you play the game only once, and never try NG+, you are really missing out on so much it's a tragedy. I enjoyed every minute of it. Each level is crafted to perfection to challenge the player and offer multiple pathways to your ultimate goal of bringing payback to the evil conspirators who betrayed the trust of Emily and Corvo and the empress. The game responds to your choices and you get different endings corresponding to your choices. (low or high Chaos) Each part of the adventure is a masterpiece of digital craftsmanship. Special mention about the clockwork mansion of Jindosh (the house rearranges its layout according to levers you pull and you use this to explore and accomplish your objective...
A perfect sequel that expands everything from the first game. Gorgeous level design, two distinct protagonists, and endless replayability. The Clockwork Mansion alone is worth the price.
Unfortunately, this game will always crash on startup if you have a Nvidia GPU and an AMD CPU. The only fix to download a third-party patch. You will find loads of people complaining about this if you google it. It's such a shame that the developers haven't fixed this issue. This really is one of my favorite games.
